"My Hometown Business Dream"
Greetings beautiful people. It’s good to be here once again to be a part of this beautiful contest.
I have always had the passion to own a large business conglomerate which I already named. My business Conglomerate one that would encompass different sectors of business.
If I had $100000 I would open a branch of that business in my home town and the company I would love to open is a water factory that would manufacture both sachet water, table water and dispenser water.
The reason I would open this branch of business in my home town is because my home town is still a rural place and has not opened up to development.
There’s no good portable water and most of the villagers fetch water from the stream which is very far from our homes and the few who are able to open bore holes in their compounds drink bore hole waters which are not even properly purified.
I remember vividly when I was younger how we trek miles just to go and fetch water from the village stream and after many years, nothing much has changed.
How will your business help your hometown grow in the long run?
My business will help my hometown grow because it will be a form of civilization as people may decide to settle there more due to access to good water. This is one of the things people look forward to wherever they want to settle in a place. Not having good water resources discourages foreign settlement.
It will also be an avenue to create employment opportunities to the local people and which will In turn improve their standard of living. People will earn good salaries and be able to take care of themselves and their loved ones.
How do you plan to involve and engage the local community in your entrepreneurial venture?
I would engage them by making it open for them to apply for working positions in the company and also seek out people who would partner with the company either in a small scale or large scale.
They can own mini water distribution outlets either in whole sale or retail form but I would ensure they are part of the civilization and also reduce the prices of the goods so that it would be readily affordable by them.
What challenges do you think you might face and how would you tackle them?
The challenges of opposition from the local people. Most people are not open to new investment especially when they are already use to what they know. I would have to go through the appropriate channel to seek legal permission to establish my business.
The challenge of having skilled employees since it’s a rural setting. I would have to higher some experts to work with me while I have to intensively train the local workers so that they can work effectively and productively.
How will your business stay up to date with changing trends and technology?
The trends are really changing hence I will have to incorporate the use of machines and the trend into my business. I would also have to go online or have my business page on the internet as we are in gen Z and also seek out partners for the business expansion.
Since am a steemian, I would have to introduce the Steem ecosystem to my workers first and the community gradually and provide an avenue where people can pay for our services using steem as a currency. This would help my business stay onboard with the trend and also get people away go the Steem economy which could bring investors and the growth of the steem community.
Thank you for stopping by. I invite @ruthjoe, @jovita30 and @beewrites to participate in the contest. Your comments are welcomed.
