SEC17/W1|Heaven and Hell: Fantasy or Reality?

in Incredible India3 months ago (edited)
Introduction

The concepts of heaven and hell have captivated the human imagination for centuries, surpassing cultures and religions. These realms (Heaven and Hell), often portrayed as polar opposites, represent the ultimate destinations for the soul – heaven as a state of eternal bliss and hell as a realm of everlasting suffering. But are these places mere fantasies, or do they hold a deeper reality?

Do you believe there is a place named heaven and hell out of this world? Justify your belief.

I will not say I believe in a place called heaven or hell. I was born and taught these concepts by parents, teachers and spiritual preachers. I also read about it in the Bible, in novels and saw it in movies. There have been rumours and accounts of people who claimed to have been to these realms but they all had different description of the place. According to science this is very fallible. I believe in what I see and feel and I believe when I get there I will know if it is true. Unfortunately I will not be able to come back and let you know.

Do you believe karma decides our future, and we get results according to the same?

At the core of these beliefs lies the concept of karma, which suggests that our actions shape our present and future lives. The belief in karma implies that our deeds, thoughts, and intentions determine our final fate. Those who live good and moral lives, guided by compassion and righteousness, are believed to be rewarded with a heavenly existence, while those who indulge in negative actions and harbor evil intentions may face the consequences of hell.
As for me I do not believe in karma because I have seen good people die poor, I have also seen wicked men continue to prosper like the corrupt leaders in my country Nigeria. I believe in actions and consequences as well as I believe that people can get away with their evil and good deeds and not get rewarded.

Karma and its Role in Our Future

Many belief systems embrace the idea that karma shapes our destiny. The principle of Karma suggests that our actions, whether good or bad, will bear fruit accordingly. This belief encourages us to cultivate positive thoughts and actions, as they are believed to pave the way for a favorable future, potentially leading to a heavenly existence. On the other hand, negative actions and intentions are thought to contribute to a devastating path, which results in the consequences of hell.

Do you believe immortality and chasteness are some factors that affect our lifestyle? Describe.

As we all know we do not have any immortal being that we are aware of except those in myth and spiritual books which can not be backed up by empirical evidence. On Chasteness I believe that staying pure and free of some things can have it's advantages. Like staying away from alcohol, junk food and some unhealthy habits has been scientifically proven to improve one's quality of life.

But let's talk about its impact.

Immortality, Chasteness, and Their Impact on Our Lifestyle

The pursuit of immortality and the practice of chasteness (purity and self-control) are often linked with the idea of achieving a heavenly state. Various spiritual traditions emphasize the importance of living a virtuous life, free from excessive pleasure and earthly desires, as a path to salvation. Similarly, the practice of chasteness (purity and self-control) is often viewed as a means of purifying the mind, body, and spirit. By exercising self-control and self- discipline, individuals strive to eliminate negative habits and align themselves with higher spiritual principles. This disciplined approach to life is believed to enhance spiritual growth and will possibly grant access to the heavenly realms.

Conclusion

Finally, the belief in heaven and hell, whether perceived as literal or metaphorical, serves as a law for moral conduct and personal growth. While the existence of these realms may remain a matter of faith and personal interpretation, the pursuit of virtue, self-discipline, and self-awareness can make a great impact in shaping our live experiences and contributing to a more fulfilling existence, both in this world and perhaps beyond. As for me, if heaven turns out to be reall I hope I end up there than in hades.

Wow, I tend to be chastised by your writeups somehow. You've actually spoken your mind and what you believe about these terminologies but let me ask, why do you believe in God ? I thought you said seeing is believing. Have you seen him? If no, then why do you believe in God, someone you can't see but you don't believe in his dwelling place, a place you can't see either? Even science made mention bof a vast universe called the heavens in hidden facts. So I see no reasons why you shouldn't believe in creation.....Do you see love? You don't but you can feel it. You don't see the wind but you can feel it. Why don't you doubt the existence of these things since you can't see them? I don't mean harm. Just want to know your perception

Thank you for this engaging comment. The wind is not seen but can be felt just like emotions. God on the other hand has not been seen but people just attribute occurrences to him. I never said I believe in God. I am just a Christian because I was born to a Christian family. Same thing would have happened if I were born to Islam, traditional religious, Buddhism and even an atheist.
For me I have not had that spiritual encounter that even science can't prove that will make me believe in God for myself and not what I have been taught to believe

What about the creation? Are these not evidences of a supernatural being? How do you think you were formed in you mother's womb? The rain and sun, are they man made? Let's reason?

Creation has a scientific evidence to it. There are not evidence of a supernatural being.
I was formed in my mothers wom through fertilisation of my fathers sperm and my moms egg. These were natural occurences. The rain and sun all have their scientific interpretation.

Lets reason too, if you believe there is a God then why is a country like Nigeria going through all this hardship with corruption. Why is the war? I know you'll tell me these are signs of end times. So that means God doesn't value His creation but just looks upon us a game chess with his end goal in mind only.
A God that cares would do something about his creation than allowing them to die just so some biblical prophecy can come to pass

There's a reason for everything. Have you ever asked why this happens because even science has the answers and it's biblically proven. It's not about the last days but everything has a reason. If a son gets arrested and none of his parents go to see him or even bail him. His parents are actually alive but they have their reasons of not doing such. So will you think in this case that the prisoner has no parents? Yes, all these are natural processes but who gave them these sperms and eggs? Did they just evolve. Who fixed our eyes so we can see? Or did they just evolve? Why are we in a giant globe? Is it man than created this giant globe? With all these creations, it should read in your minds that someone supernatural is behind these activities. Can you see a house and assume the house grew from the soil? Someone built it.

As much as it is true that there must be a supernatural force behind everything that's happening, I am still in doubt that this person is the God you worship. How are you sure your own God Jehovah is the real God?
How is it not Allah, Buddha, Sango, etc
Because other religions do not believe in heaven and hell.
How then are you sure that because of some flip of chance that made you to be born to a Christian family that your religion is automatically right. When you answer this you'd understand the reason for my take on the subject matter

@zekanem. Your article raises thought-provoking questions about the concepts of heaven, hell, and karma. Beliefs in these realms often stem from upbringing and cultural influences. While personal experiences shape our perspectives, the idea of karma reflects the impact of our actions on our lives. The pursuit of virtue and self-discipline, regardless of one's belief in an afterlife, can enhance personal growth and moral conduct. Ultimately, these ideas offer valuable insights into how we shape our experiences and relationships in this life. What a quality post you've put together. Thumbs up bro

Thank you for your comment. I appreciate

Yes my dear, only God knows if this is all true. And if He himself exist.

You have written and shared your thoughts heartily on the topic.

God is a supernatural being and has been in existence before the creation of the world.

We came into existence because He decided to create us. You didn't just come on your accord.

God created us for His pleasure, He gave you life and everything you are, so the least you can do for Him is to believe in Him.

If you are still yet to believe in the one that created you, I think you need to do so.

Heaven is only made and prepared for those who believe in Him. And hell is made for those who do not believe in Him.

While on earth, and alive, you have the choice to decide where to go, by your lifestyle here on earth.

Heaven and Hell is real because Jesus confirmed them in his Holy book, the Bible.

You do not believe in a literal heaven or hell, as my beliefs are rooted in what you can see and feel, rather than what you have been taught. You also question the concept of karma, as you have witnessed good people facing adversity and wicked individuals thriving. However, you do acknowledge the importance of living a virtuous life, practicing self-discipline, and cultivating positive actions for personal growth and fulfillment.

Hello friend, it's true that karma shapes our destiny.
While we live in a world were most people have their own perspectives in the Afterlife, no matter how modern the world is, some persons out there do not believe in hell or heaven, they just dnt want to agree to such points, but I do and I'm happy to read that from you. Thanks for sharing your writings to us here, best of luck.
