Hello respected friends, it is another new and great week in the ongoing steemit engagement challenge. Before us, this week is another personalized and health-friendly topic by the incredible-India community What do you do to stay balanced in times of stress". This is one topic that would help review the different therapies and measures we take to either avoid stress or deal with it when it occurs.

We may likely have to deal with stress in our everyday lives. It is one unwanted friend that shows up each time we get pressurized, and stretch as a result of our daily activities. Not only that it comes with different symptoms to show its arrival, but it is also no respecter of anyone. Both the young, old, businessman, and employee are executed for the menace.

Therefore, to have an overview of the term Stress, we have to note that any form of discomfort or displeasure that brings about instability in our physical, mental, or emotional health is STRESS. This varies from person to person as their symptoms may not be the same at all times and in body types. Anyway, let's get started using the topic guidelines as requested by the organizers of these contests.

What do you do to stay balanced in times of stress

My actions and reactions would be greatly dependent on what I am doing at that very moment. I don't think my reaction to a particular period should be the same when responding to stressful moments due to the type of activities indulged with.

If I am stressed while still at the workplace, I should be able to go for a break and as well walk around a little for the moment of saturation. This should be able to bring relief, and nerve relaxation at that moment. No wonder why we have break time to help bring refreshments during active work time.

A good wine to relax after a stressful day

However, if I am back from work and stressed, there are a few things I needed to quickly do and get the required balancing. I will have to take a long shower in the bathroom, have my dinner, and relax with good wine. Good wine not only nourishes heart health but creates a sedative feeling for rest. After all, all we need to do at this time is to REST.

Another most important factor to help balance our stress experience is indulging in exercises. Exercises are known to help quell the tension within. The pressure of the week and work time can be tamed and shook off when we indulge in outdoor or indoor sports. The nerves are seen to get relaxed after an exercise, and when we follow it with a fresh bath, we tend to doze off. This brings a lot of comfort.

Lastly, Feeding Rightly is also another medicine to stress. What we eat define how we perform in terms of eventualities of this nature. Therefore, it is good to eat right both before and after stressful situations of any kind.

  • Having a fresh bath & while relaxing with a good wine
  • Exercising (Indoor or Outdoor Sports)

Give three main reasons behind our stress

Since we already know that everyone experiences some level of stress depending on our engagements, however, there are some main reasons behind the stress we get.

  • Employers Demand:

This is one of the troublesome moments for most of us in this category. Employer demands are one of the major reasons for work stress as observed in different scenarios. These can be seen to come target achievements, performances, and other demands from the employer which keeps its employees on their toes.

  • Family and Domestic Concerns:

This is another emotional and psychological stress that affects man in his space. The constant thoughts of how to carry on with his family and provide for them can be very overwhelming.

In a typical African setting, the man is placed on a scale where most responsibilities are saddled on him. This burden is quite overwhelming especially now that we face economic and societal challenges. Inflations and government policies have bedeviled the polity.

  • Societal and Environmental concerns:

In most underdeveloped or developing countries, we find this type of stress on the increase where there are hyper disorderliness and means of survival. A type of this is in Lagos state (Nigeria) where commuters spend many hours in traffic due to congestion and poor transportation system. Sometimes, people can leave their homes as early as 4:30 am to workplaces so as to escape this menace.

Now, this explains how many sleeping hours they must have got during their resting period. This invariably means that if they are stuck in traffic the previous day, they have barely less than 4 hrs sleeping time. This is a trauma to deal with as long one continues to reside in such an environment that is stressful and depressive if not contained.

What about the hazards of dealing with touts (aka agbero) who harass motorists while commuting because they are indirectly hired by government agencies to collect illegal revenues?

Do you think now we should take this problem seriously? If so, then describe why?

The issue of stress should be taken very seriously. Most of the underlying factors that cause stress are not palatable to humans. Every Man's purpose is to reduce stress. Stress can be likened to a Headache and I know that no one would want a headache as a feeling.

Let's look at the issue of employers' demands. Everyone would want a situation where there is less pressure and peace of man. No wonder why many now look for side incomes and entrepreneurial ventures so as to limit these heart-aching experiences.

This in extension would go a long way in reducing family and domestic pressures. Responsibilities are reduced when cash equivalents marched hand to hand with it. Every man would want to handle issues of this nature so as to reduce depressive moments from the stress associated with it.

Conclusion

Stress in its totality should be reduced and avoided so as to limit its impact on human health. There is the devastating effect of this observed over time which may give rise to heart disorders, High blood pressure, etc. We should always find time to rest, play down activities that bring us stress and as well know when to quit activities that bring discomfort and displeasure.

Hello My Friend @xkool24! This is such an important topic, and I love what you said about how stress is unpredictable and affects everyone in different ways. It's so true that people differ in the way they react to stressful situations, and I think coming up with strategies to manage our stress is a great way to maintain our mental health.

I especially love your ideas for when you are stressed at work—taking breaks, walking around a bit, and taking a long calming shower when you get home can all help us stay balanced during these tough times. While it may be hard sometimes to wind down after a long day and take time for yourself, this is definitely important. Let's keep sharing coping mechanisms and supporting each other as we look to better understand our stress levels!

I can remember an article that correlates stress with our blood types. The rate of effect of stress in human have a greater role to play amongst human vis-a-vis their blood groups.
