What do you glimpse toward the word “development? |

Development is the phenomenon whereby a place or person is developed as a result if accumulated effort put in for growth. Sometimes, growth and development are used interchangeably in our society. In this aspect, permit me to cite an example. Imagine a country that cleared bush to create a passage for trekking. The citizens there use that pathway for a long time. But all of a sudden, an initiative is formed and the pathway is expanded into motor able road. In this way, we can say that development has taken place.
In your opinion, what are the necessary resources for developing a country? |

When a country is in a phase of development, there are certain resources that can’t be neglected. Here are some of the resources:
- Education: This is very essential in the development of a country. Imagine a situation whereby the leaders and citizens of a nation are illiterates, then the rate of development there might be minimal. This is because they might not be able to manage themselves or the relationship between other countries. This is why we place education as an important resource in the course of development.
- Honesty: This might be an underestimated factor in the course of development but it’s important. In a situation whereby the finances for a development project is on ground but the person supervising the project has other agendas. The question here is that will that project work? The answer is definitely NO. The person might stand a chance of diverting the project’s finances for his or her selfish purpose.
- Financial Power: We shouldn’t forget this factor as it’s a key factor. In any developing projects, finances are needed to push it forward.

Being a citizen of my country, which is your priority that I want in the first place as a part of development and why? |

As a citizen of Nigeria, we need different resources to develop our country. But, I believe that there is an important one we should emphasize. That resource is nothing than honesty and accountability. We should understand that development start from the upper chambers to the lower. So, if the upper chamber is filled with honesty, then development will be feasible.
