Assalamualaikum to all. Hope everyone is safe and well. Congratulations to everyone on week five of the Steam Engagement Challenge. Today I will be participating in the incredible Indian community to highlight various issues related to the environment including three reasons behind environmental pollution as per today's competition. Let's get started then...
 What are the three significant reasons behind environmental pollution? |

Causes of environmental pollution: When various harmful substances are added to the basic elements of the environment - air, water, and soil, it is called environmental pollution. We need pollution-free air to survive. Because people and their environment are greatly damaged due to air pollution. Some of the causes of air pollution from natural and human beings are created sources are:-
Air is polluted in different ways by natural means. For example: due to lightning, lava flow, tree-to-tree friction, etc., fires occur in forest areas and cause air pollution. During the eruption - a large amount of sulfur from the volcano mixes into the air and pollutes the air. Also due to the decomposition of dead organisms' many types of foul-smelling gases mix with the air and pollute the air.

Industrial waste: The waste and toxic substances released from industrial plants seriously pollute the water of rivers or seas. Also, emissions from coke and plastic factories cause harm to living organisms and arsenic from industrial plants contaminates water.
Direct pollution by humans - Most people pollute the water by bathing and washing their clothes in rivers, ponds, and water bodies.
Solid Garbage: Products like Polyethylene Rubber Plastic etc. are not easily destroyed. Bacteria and other microorganisms cannot act on them, so these substances accumulate in the water and pollute the water.
Pesticides and herbicides: When various harmful pesticides are spread on plants, they mix with groundwater and pollute the water.
Radioactive material: At present, radioactive materials released from car fuel nuclear reactors and other nuclear explosions fall into rivers and seas during rains, causing water pollution.
Mineral oil: Accidental release of crude oil from oil tankers at sea creates a coating on the water. Oil spills from engine boats, steamers, and dollar launches into rivers and seas, causing damage to aquatic life and water pollution.
| How can we prevent environmental pollution? |

Yes! We can easily control environmental pollution by taking proper preventive measures. There are several steps to be taken to prevent environmental - pollution. For example, sources like solar and hydroelectricity should be used as alternative fuels to prevent air pollution. Deforestation and cutting of trees should be stopped before a certain time. It is possible to prevent environmental pollution i.e. soil pollution by burying agricultural and household waste and excreta and carcasses of domesticated animals and dead bodies in specific places. Excessive use of chemical fertilizers, and pesticides on agricultural land should be reduced. Also, it is possible to control environmental pollution by curbing population growth.

Environmental pollution adversely affects all living beings including humans. For example, due to the constant use of plastic, people suffer from various diseases including thyroid, kidney disease, and skin diseases. Burning of fossil fuels, black smoke from vehicles, etc. Air pollution increases the incidence of diseases like lung cancer- asthma- bronchitis, etc. Horns of various vehicles, rallies, concerts, etc. are responsible for noise pollution, and noise pollution can lead to serious heart attacks along with hearing loss. Also, due to environmental pollution, all living creatures including humans lack healthy living space, lack of adequate food and are likely to be affected by various air-borne and water-borne diseases.

| Have you ever taken part in keeping your environment clean? |

Yes! I have participated many times in keeping the environment clean.I live in the village. The effect of environmental pollution in villages is a little more than that of normal cities. Therefore, to prevent rural life from environmental pollution, we villagers implement environmental pollution prevention programs from time to time. The purpose of these programs is to make people aware and careful about environmental protection by imparting correct knowledge to the public to protect the environment cleanly. We take some steps to keep the environment clean. For example, we have created pits along with the placement of dustbins along the road to ensure that the garbage is kept in a specific place so that people do not throw garbage in that specific place. We are also adopting various precautionary measures to reduce air pollution.

I think environmental pollution is having harmful effects on animals. As a result, the life of animals is greatly disrupted, so everyone should play an effective role in preventing air pollution to live healthily. Polluted air is very harmful to animals. It seems that we have to clean up on our planet, like we do at home. It seems that people are like little kids after playing left everything laying with hope that someone will clean after them.
I think much depends on our government and regulations, that also will make people to follow them but also that the school have significant role as our new generation is growing and have to learn from young ages.
I agree in villages people care more and feel responsible, it is great that you are taking part in such Initiative to keep environment clean.
