Dear Friends,

How are you all? I hope you all are enjoying your Sunday. Today I am here to take part in the contest announced by the community.

Nowadays, it has become necessary to take our regular food seriously and choose healthy food daily.

I commonly make two or three dishes that are not only healthy yet tasty. Today I selected one delicacy that is one of the famous dishes of South India and the name of the dish is "UPMA."

Let me share the recipe first;
Then I will share why I chose the recipe for the contest and the healthy part of it.

So, without wasting any more time, let's start to learn how to make the famous south Indian delicacy "UMPA."

INGREDIENTS:-

(Ingredients)

1.Semolina:-100gm.
2.Clarified Butter:- 2-1/2 tbsp.
3.Cashew Nuts:- 1-1/2 tbsp.
4.Peanut:-1tbsp.
5.Virgin coconut oil:- 2-1/2 tbsp.
6.Carrot:- 1 small(chopped roughly).
7.French Beans:- 5(roughly chopped).
8.Green chilies:- 2-3 (roughly chopped).

Spices:-

1.Cumin seeds- 1/4 tsp.
2.Curry leaves- A handful.
3.Asafoetida- 1/4 tsp.
4.Dry red chili-2broken.
5.Sugar- 1-1/2 tsp or to taste.
6.Pink salt- As needed.

(Healthy Upma)

PREPARATION METHOD:-

STEP 1:- First, turn on the flame on medium and place a wide mouth vessel(wok) on the flame.

Once the vessel,(wok) would become well heated;

transfer semolina into it and dry roast the semolina until light brown. Once you get the right texture of the semolina, transfer the dry roasted semolina into a bowl.

STEP 2:- Now in the same vessel, add virgin coconut oil, and once the oil becomes a bit heated.

Then add cumin seed and broken dry red chilies. Saute for a few seconds once cumin will be started cracking;

and red chilies will start changing their color, then add asafoetida, and curry leaves. Mix them well for a few seconds.

STEP 3:- Next, transfer all chopped vegetables along with chopped green chilies inside the vessel. Lower the flame and cover the pan; cook the vegetable until it softens or per boiled.

Then open the lid and add dry nuts and cook for one minute.

STEP 4:- Now transfer the dry roasted semolina into it and mix all ingredients well. Next, add sugar, and pink salt and then mix again well until all ingredients combine well.

STEP 5:- Next, add 2cups of warm water and mix water well with all ingredients. Now keep the flame lower and cover the pan until semolina starts bubbling. Open the lid and taste the sugar and salt at this stage.

If required add more accordingly.

STEP 6:- Vigorously stir the semolina and add clarified butter at this stage.

Then again mix all ingredients well and once the semolina starts to lose the corner of the vessel turn off the flame and cover the pan with a lid.

STEP 7:- After 2-3 minutes open the lid, and a healthy upma is ready to serve.

HEALTHY PART OF THE RECIPE:-

Semolina:-

1.Prevents anemia.
2.Improves kidney function.
3.Keeps the nervous system in good condition.
4.Improves heart health.
5.Enhances immunity.
6.Good for digestive function.
7.Boosts energy.
8.Keep bones stronger.

Health tips of the day:- If you are on a diet can use brown semolina instead of white semolina.

As we all know an adult requires 2000 calories per day, and upma provided us with 10 percent of the total daily calorie requirement.

It contains Fiber, healthy fat, protein, and carbohydrates.
It is ideal for breakfast.

4.Good For Your Heart.
