Asalam alikum, I hope all steemian friends are doing great. I feel very emotional to take part in this contest because I have always wished to visit this particular time in distant past. When I read about this contest I spent 24 hours to shape and order my emotions in words. I have emotional attachment with the incident of Karbala. and I have always wanted to be there with Imam Hussain and his supporters. So this puts me right in the position to answer the first question:

Which era would I like to visit with the time machine and why?

I would love to visit the time when battle of Karbala was fought. It was fought on October 10, 680 AD, in Karbala, present-day Iraq, between the forces of the Umayyad Caliphate, led by Yazid , and a small army of supporters and relatives of Holy Prophet Muhammad's grandson, Husayn ibn Ali, who refused to pledge allegiance to Yazid. The battle resulted in the death of Husayn and his companions, and is regarded as a seminal event in the history of Islam.

Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, was known for his bravery, courage, and unwavering determination in the face of adversity. Despite facing immense pressure and persecution from the Umayyad Caliphate under the rule of Yazid, Imam Hussain stood firmly in his beliefs and refused to surrender. He understood the importance of upholding the principles of justice, truth, and morality, even if it meant risking his own life. His unwavering commitment to these principles is what ultimately led him to make the difficult decision to stand up against the unjust rule of Yazid and fight for what was right.

Now comes the why part :

It was turning point in the history of Islam and has become symbol of standing for justice till the end of times. Hussainiyat has become a noun for standing against injustice. I want to be a unit of Imam Hussain's small band of supporters. So that on judgment day I could tell Holy Prophet PBUH that I was also standing with his dearest grandson for justice.

Imam Hussain's courage and determination inspired many others to stand with him, and his selfless act of sacrifice has become a symbol of resistance against tyranny and oppression. His bravery in the face of overwhelming odds, and his willingness to lay down his life in the name of his beliefs, has earned him a place in the hearts of millions of Muslims as a hero and martyr. The legacy of Imam Hussain continues to be a source of inspiration for those seeking to stand up against injustice and fight for what is right. His unwavering courage and determination continue to serve as a beacon of hope for future generations.

With whom would I like to travel that era and why?

I would like to travel with my husband to that era because in all the travelling when he is by my side I feel complete. Allah has indeed created couples as consolers for each other, as a source of comfort and support in life's challenges.
Having a supportive and loving spouse by your side during any journey, especially one as significant as traveling back in time to the Battle of Karbala, can bring comfort and security. My husband, as my steadfast companion, will provide emotional support as I witness the events unfold. His unwavering presence will serve as source of providing strength.

It is understandable that revisiting such a historically significant and emotionally charged event could be overwhelming, but having him by my side will allow me to face it together. His support will give me the courage and peace of mind to fully immerse myself in the experience. The shared memory and understanding I gain from this journey will bring us together as a couple and enrich our relationship.

If I get a chance to compile one thing from that era, what would I like to bring with myself

If I get a chance to bring one thing from that era , it would be the unwavering commitment of Imam Hussain. Nothing could stop him from standing in the face of tyranny and oppression. Just before the night of 10th Muharram he gave chance to his supporters to leave him in the darkness of night as he could see his assassination the next day but he was ready to sacrifice his life. His supporters too did not leave him. I would love to forget about any ifs and buts when I decide for a cause like Imam Hussain.

What a great history and line to be part of or witness. Your supposed era would require much carefulness if one is expected to be live due to the waring atmosphere. However, the bravery from the Holy Prophet grandson is a fit to emulate and stand for.
