GIFTS
Gifts holds a special place in our social life. It could be an object or something more which is given freely and jovially to our loves ones or friends, as a way of expressing gratitude, love or friendship on a particular occasion like anniversary, birthday or marriage.
They strengthen our relationship with other people and also speak of our love for one another.Man is a social animal,and gifts are perfect way of creating and cementing the relationship between individuals.
However, it is unfortunate to see that some gifts are an expression of our selfish nature. they do not increase or strengthen our love for one another or bonds but rather are given out of a dubious, mischievous agenda.
Sometimes as form of bribery or to win favour from a superior. This is disheartening. As the true purpose of gifting has been thrown out the window. True gifts are given out of the goodness and sincerity of our hearts. The sheer joy and surprise of the recipient of the gift is the satisfaction we get as the giver.
The ability to put a smile on the face of someone you love or care for is fulfilling and fortunately gifts helps us to accomplish that.
There are different categories of gifts. I like to think that the gifts created out of ones own hands and efforts are more powerful, effective and coneys a lot to the receiver than any material item bought and sent as a gift. Also giving someone a gift based on his or her utmost need or desire is much more valuable to the recipient and will forever be cherished by such person. Rather than overloading and such person with what they already possess.
Therefore, in the selection of a gift, there are two important factors to consider. Firstly, is it fulfilling the recipient utmost need or desire? Secondly, is it a creation from our own effort?.
Gifts are proof of our affection and goodwill. It increases love for one another.

It also bring to life our feelings of kindness and hospitality. They instigate memories and emotions. It is our goodness for others that prompts us to give gifts to loved ones and friends and also enable us to overcome animosity and ill feelings.
