Happy Bengali New Year

Hope you are all well and healthy. At the beginning, I wish everyone a Happy Pahela Boishakh.
Please come to us on the first day of the Bengali year, Pahela Boishakh. Today is April 14th of English month and 1st Baisakh of Bengali month. Pahela Baishakh is the first day of the Bengali month. New year starts on this day. This day is very happy for Bengalis. Different kinds of festivals are held around this day in every part of our country. Today is welcomed with a lot of joy.
One of the most important days in Bengali history is Pahela Boishakh. At the beginning of today's morning, Bengalis start the day with panta-hilsa. Then the little children get drunk playing with different colors. On this day, we forget all the differences between us and celebrate this day together with each other. Somewhere a big fair is organized and all the Bengalis come there.
Today is normal like any other day. But we Bengalis make this day extraordinary. Girls in white sarees, flowers on their heads, garlands around their necks and boys in Punjabi, pajama, go out in the afternoon to roam around. Music sessions are organized at different places in the village. Thousands of people gathered there. There different songs are performed on Boishakh among us which makes us all mesmerized. This day is celebrated irrespective of caste and religion.
Today delicious variety of choice food is prepared at home. Fresh coriander khid, pies are cooked. Pitha Utsav is prepared. Various kinds of pies are gathered. Halkhata is held in the village on this day. It is a very happy time for the farmers. Farmers bring home cows full of paddy. There is a festival of joy all around. New leaves are formed on trees. Baisakh month is very popular for mango and jackfruit. The smell of ripening fruits is found all around.
Bengali New Year makes the whole country festive. Celebrates our Bengali tradition. Removes all sorrows, mistakes and ushers in a new day. Bengalis today reinvent themselves. It reminds us of our tradition. New Year is an unforgettable day in all of our lives. We all will try to sustain this tradition of our Bengalis. Let's forget all the differences and start a new life.
