Anand Mahindra reminisces about his company's inaugural electric vehicle, which was manufactured 24 years ago.
Companies like BYD and Tesla currently dominate the global electric vehicle (EV) market. However, long before these international firms introduced their first EVs, Mahindra Automobiles did so back in 1999. The three-wheeler was named "Bijleee," which translates to electricity as well as lightning in Hindi.
To mark the occasion of World EV Day, celebrated on September 9 each year, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra shared a photo of himself standing alongside the vehicle and its creator, S V Nagarkar.
