Today I'll talk about Allamanda cathartica blongs to family apocenasi. Common name of Allamanda are Golden-trumpet Yellow Allamanda, Common Allamanda, Akar Cempaka Hutan, Akar Chempaka Kuning, Bunga Akar Kuning, Allamanda Trumpet Vine and Golden Trumpet Vine.

It's such a popular plant you can see it every where. These trumpet shape flower is so attractive that they will draw your attention. It's a flowering creeper or semi climbed that grows up-right and tall. Mostly they come in bright yellow colour. They attracts many wildlife and one can get lots of flowers with minimum care. It flower from early summer to winter but they really bloom well in rainy season. Allamanda grows best in tropical climate. They like heat and humidity. They should be kept 8-10 hrs in direct sunlight. But they can be given afternoon shade duing summer.

They don't require any extra care if planted on ground. In case of container it requires good quality soil with compost. Liquid master cake fertilizer and some bone meal may be used. Drainage should be quick.

Allamanda does better in humid condition, they don't like dry climate. Don't let the soil get too dry in summer.

One can easily grow them from stem cutting, they root very well. Root hormone will prevent from fungus and establish the roots faster. It will take 40-45 days to establish the roots. Place it in under shade with bright light. Water it three to four times a week. After 45 days healthy leafs start coming. They are fast growing plant and pruning help them shape well.

Usually they don't have pest problems. On can use Neem oil if any pest is seen.

After one or two years you can repot them and add new soil to boost the growth to get more flowers. This is one of the best low maintenance flowering plants.
