'Yato mat, tato path' 'Taka mati, mati taka'

Suktisubhra Pradhan has symbolically portrayed Sri Ramakrishna's sayings being echoed and re-echoed all over the world. The conch shell is often compared to the neck, hence the sound coming out of it is like the human voice. The conch shell here proclaiming the glory to Sri Ramakrishna, signifies the voice of the innumerable devotees who seek refuge in the great Saint's sayings. His sayings are written in the border that encompasses the painting, and thus specifying that Sri Ramakrishna's sayings would always protect the devotee who seeks refuge in him.

In the her second painting Sri Ramakrishna's dictum 'Yato mat tato path' is certainly in full conformity with the teachings of the Upanishads and the Bhagawad Gita. The pronouncement of this extraordinary secular concept has made Sri Ramakrishna an emancipator, whose sayings (recorded in the Kathamreo Book) are the remedy against the present-day religious conflicts throughout the world. Sakti Subhra Pradhan, in her painting portrayed the inner meaning of Sri Ramakrishna's Sadhana a befitting manner. Here, Sri Ramakrishna is seen to be seated at the centre of a blooming lotus. In the halo encircling his head is inscribed in calligraphy, his famous saying, 'Yato mat, tato path'. From the halo, different paths to reach the higher planes of life are seen. One laser-like path has starts its journey from the soul of Sri Ramakrishna. This suggests the widespread relevance his vision and ideal. The flames around the halo are the flames of greed, ambition and jealousy, that are ablaze in the human mind. Below it, are the wavy lines portraying the flow of consciousness, in which echoes his oft quoted saying, 'Taka mati, mati taka', signifying the necessity of making this message a part of one's conscious endeavour.
