Visiting places in Odisha - Part 1

Odisha is the easternmost state of India and known for it's ancient temples, vibrant wild life, tradition, diverse culture and beautiful handicrafts.

Here we will discuss some visiting places in Odisha. As well as I will discuss about other things to explore in those visiting places.

Bhubaneswar :

This is the capital city of Odisha and has a well connectivity with all major cities. There is an international airport also in Bhubaneswar.

You can explore Lingaraj temple, Raja rani temple, Udayagiri and Khandagiri caves and Dhauli stupa here. There is a wils life sanctuary here in Bhubaneswar, known as Nandan Kanan zoo.

In Nandan Kanan you will find a huge variety of wild animals along with reptiles, crocodile, turtles etc. There is a water park with boating facility and a children park inside the premises.

Koraput :

This district is one of the important place, considering the contribution to the states's economy. There are many natural visiting places to explore in Koraput.

Also you can explore the tribal communities and different handicraft products. The Kotpad saree with natural dye and tribal pattern is very famous here.

In Damanjodi you can explore the world's 2nd tallest hanuman statue, An artificial lake and waterfall, hilltop Jagannath temple, natural beauties of open farm and hills.

In Koraput city, you can explore the replica of Puri Jagannath temple. There is a tribal museaum adjacent to the Jagannath temple.

Puri :

Puri is famous for the Jagannath temple and Car festival. You can come here during the Car Festival, when the Lord comes out of the temple.

But this is the time when Puri is over crowded, so be careful. Puri is well connected with Bhubaneswar. both by road and railways. On the way to Puri you can visit Pipili, which is famous for its appliqué work.

Konark, The sun temple is a heritage place. If you are coming to Puri, then a visit to Konark temple is must. You can explore the golden beach in Puri.
