RE: The face we show

in ᴀʀᴛ & ᴀʀᴛɪꜱᴛꜱ2 days ago (edited)

Such a strange face. One eye open and alert and the other? I doubt it's blind. More likely turned inside like we partly can if we sleep and some animals can. It looks gone at first sight but clearly a lot goes on behind that white bulb.

That eye looks very good, detailed and I like the skin colour. Still blue with a tiuch of green and unlike the Hulk this looks natural to me.

The end result not a Halloween character but a mask...

He's still holding on to that mask even it's fallen apart. You will leave your marks behind. Iam sure of that. I find your chouces refreshing and so is the energy you put in it.

Super!

@rokhani what do you think of this? @almaguer teaches himself how to paint. 🤩

Adorable kitty.
I hadn't seen this painting with that meaning. I like your idea. There will always be more after...
We fall asleep and continue dreaming, or we are awake, either with a crust of bread or a bag of chips, or we can watch a Netflix movie, while a missing eye crawls along the walls and ceiling. It doesn't need light, just flat surfaces to move forward. Oh, I remember where the other eye was.

A face is a mirror of our hearts and feelings. When you depict a face, you are pouring your focus into it, so every stroke will convey to others what you are thinking or feeling. Choosing one eye is better because we know the eyes are the windows to the heart. We can speak untruths or lie with our mouths. But the eyes cannot. No matter how clever we are at lying, the eyes cannot deceive us. They penetrate directly to the heart. An anxious heart will be reflected in restless eyes. Hopeful eyes seem to stare into the distance, as if waiting for a beloved who never arrives.
Every stroke of paint, whether gentle or heavy, imparts a certain energy to the resulting stroke. That's why each painting can have diverse meanings and be full of emotion.
Perhaps when you paint, you are expressing feelings that are still uncertain.
In closing my #comment , I say you will find the joy of painting.
Congratulations!

You left a great comment to @almaguer and gave everyone reading this a lot to think about or who knows even more to hide.

I doubt with one eye closed or absent the soul can be hidden. There's also something like aura and instinct tells, or is it alarms, us about certain vibes.

The painting is close to that. I am glad it's not a carnival mask.

#wewrite & #comment

Yes, I liked the comment. Your approach to art is brilliant, surrounding yourself with creators and friends. Not so much with gnomes, who can steal you away in the night, while you sleep or keep an eye on limbo. Tell us how the art is going, your creations, the basement, do we have any potatoes left, or just the stench of a rotting corpse and a cat sleeping under the table.

Thank you for kind words in you #comment
Everyone will have their own perspective. They may be the same or different. All of this allows us to learn. If you have feedback, let it be a repository, and then we'll decide which ones we can implement to improve our future work.
I'm not qualified to judge your work, especially since I'm not an art curator. I'm simply conveying what's on my mind when I see your painting.
Great job...

I doubt art curators observe, buy art so why on earth should you be one to say if you like it or not? In the end people watch, observe, visit galleries, musea of Ikea like @lupega to enjoy whatever the art is.

yes, #wewrite and #comment no matter what.

If we remember an idealism, it would certainly be complete. Besides visiting galleries and studios, it would be meaningful if there were a curator who could provide economic value so that the artist's livelihood could also be supported. They could enjoy the work and gain satisfaction, but also receive financial support for a work that was free from commission. Because even if someone funded an artist's work, their sincerity would be questionable, or at least the artist would be bound by the amount given and lose their idealism in their work.
You're right about why there must be terms like and dislike. However, that's all reality. If everyone understood that art was for art's sake, there would be no such thing as like or dislike.
However, in reality, we cannot deny that a fan of realism will certainly feel out of place when visiting an exhibition of surrealist or abstract works.
And it turns out we come to know our own faces. Like @almaguer, painting certainly wants to reveal one side of one's face or one's feelings.
Or at least it can make us reflect so that when we see a face that is not a carnival mask, we will be reminded of a nuance that we have experienced or are currently experiencing.

What can I say.. artistic gnomes exist or? No one at the door and they were still present, one half buried so I guess.. well I better don't guess since it's nearly Halloween and the died ones arise from the grave and we can celebrate meeting again (or something) which fits to the topic of the day...hell on earth or the very tiny change to end up in hell in the after life if it exists at all (we create our own hell so why not do the same with paradise?).

Potatoes... all eaten and the basement is still not emptied. I saw books with recipes but tacos and old Dutch ones and some Hungarian (never saw a great Hungarian dish). I overslept still in time to start the fight...the corpse has to be buried somewhere else. My soil is already filled with... (how many pelicans are left?).

Really? How can that have an impact? But it makes us all happy because if it can become a topic of conversation, and then the noise we make also attracts the attention of other Steemians, that's great.
It will prove the power of the community in its interconnectedness. We will pay attention to each other, and then we will emerge as a true ecosystem, not just a bunch of people looking for change, coin by coin. Especially a bunch of people with bad intentions who want to commit robbery.
No, again, no. We are not people who just blah blah blah
or ha ha hi hi laughing out loud.
We have a moral responsibility to grow together and develop a community and ecosystem that thrives on mutualism.

And I was very happy to see @wakucat appear as a witness, and I believe he will always be trustworthy and on the right track.

Regarding @almiguer's work, of course, we can agree and disagree. It all depends on perspective. But one thing is for sure, he's heading towards a peak that could take him even further. So, keep working hard, and it will put you in a place that others will easily see.
Opportunities are always wide open with your talent and intuition.
At the end of my comment, I just want to say, together we can do it (this isn't presidential campaign material, you know...)

If everyone joins the power of words, the community will be noticed if not...
Let's see if we can find the trail and stay on the right track.

#comment #wewrite

The biggest challenge right now is to attract attention, attract attention, and become a magnet that can then draw others back into the pool and join this ecosystem. The steps we take by commenting on each other create at least some noise that others can witness. Perhaps someone who was just passing by feels something interesting and starts to feel drawn to joining. Then we've done something. And I know you've done something even bigger. This means we want every Steemian to join together to echo #comment and then #wewrite.
In such conditions, I'm confident we'll succeed in creating that noise.

Conversely, if no one responds to the noise, we'll continue doing it because we know we're on the right track. The only question is time and patience. Maybe if we had been advised to post regularly daily, then that would have been ideal, then we would have been able to survive, but even if not, we can make the conversation through comments so that relationships can continue to be established and continue to maintain the spirit of building this community.

Thank you for the comment, poetic and inspiring. You carry art within you; otherwise, you wouldn't be able to say certain words. That motivates me; I'm just beginning this journey, and it's pleasurable. Labels may come later, fitting us into a discourse, or pigeonholing us into pictorial or literary movements. Anything goes, if we have friends who enjoy making their day a definitive space for art and friendship, rooted and lasting. Greetings.
