Review of the movie "Spider-Man: Far from Home"

in LifeStyle4 years ago

After the grand finale of Avengers: Endgame , many Marvel fans had a natural question: "Where will the cinematic universe move now, after saying goodbye to many heroes who have become practical relatives in 11 years?" Well, it is no coincidence that Spider-Man: Far From Home became the last film of the third phase of the MCU. He, among other things, shows what an MCU can be without iconic characters and what awaits us next.

If for some reason you missed Avengers: Endgame , Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Homecoming , then before going to Spider-Man: Far From Home and reading this review, we strongly recommend that you watch these films. Because talking about Far From Home without spoilers for previous films is impossible. As a bonus, you can also revisit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse , in Far From Home the theme of the multiverse also pops up.

So, the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home take place some time after Avengers: Endgame. Five years have passed since Thanos' memorable click, and several months after the Hulk's reverse click. The world is still experiencing the consequences of the instantaneous disappearance and subsequent return of half of the population. The world has not yet recovered from the departure of the Avengers. Peter Parker also did not come to his senses, having lost in the person of Tony Stark his fatherly figure, mentor and role model. Peter sees Tony's tracks everywhere and realizes that he can never replace Iron Man. However, Spider-Man, who missed five years of his life, has other problems. He just can't get close to Michelle, who he really likes. Perhaps a school trip to Europe will help the young man take the plunge.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is built on the mold of a teenage comedy about the journey of Americans to Europe. Schoolchildren consistently visit Venice, Prague and London, plus Spider-Man himself has time to visit Holland. Naturally, all European countries, as it should be in the genre, are shown as stereotypical and stereotyped as possible, however, it all looks really funny and even with some smack of postirany. In addition, the authors never go overboard, there is no humor below the belt in the film.

Against the backdrop of a trip to Europe, Spider-Man is struggling not only with his shyness and inability to talk with girls, but also with self-doubt, unwillingness to carry the burden that fell on his shoulders after the departure of the Avengers. After all, he is just a friendly neighbor spider, he is not ready to fight alone with problems that require semi-divine powers to solve. But, as they say, in the absence of a stamp ... Nick Fury needs Peter Parker, and Nick Fury is not the right person to refuse.

A new character in the Marvel Universe who appears in Spider-Man: Far From Home is Quentin Beck / Mysterio, played by Jake Gyllenhaal. Despite the complexity of this figure, Gyllenhaal did an excellent job, and the battle scenes that brought Mysterio's skills to the film are not inferior, and sometimes even surpass the insane episodes from Doctor Strange . The battles in the last third of the film are by far the best action scenes in the history of the MCU.

However, the value of Far From Home is not even that. Most importantly, the film, in a tribute to all the previous MCU films (which is just the scene with Led Zeppelin), shows what the next five years of collaboration between Disney, Marvel and Kevin Feige might look like. And although no Phase Four films have been announced yet, it is clear who will take the place of the leader of the new Avengers and where the focus will shift in the superhero showdown.

There are two post-credits scenes in Spider-Man: Far From Home, and both are important. The first, in fact, is the real finale of the picture, while the second reveals some unexpected nuances of Far From Home and allows you to understand what awaits the MCU next.

The MCU Phase Four movies are expected to air within a couple of weeks of the big screen release of Spider-Man: Far From Home, and it's safe to say that the new movies will include both Spider-Man 3 and, most likely, Spider-Man. 4. It is unlikely that Peter Parker will be able to deal with the consequences of the scene shown after the credits, in one film. Again, after such an open ending, the next Spider-Man film does not even need to be advertised - the fans themselves will line up at the box office.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is a worthy sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. A cute teenage comedy with some of the best action scenes in the history of superhero cinema and very bold hints about the future fate of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A worthy end to the third phase and a new page in the history of the superhero universe. Say what you want, but Kevin Feige is definitely a genius, the decision to end the phase not with the sad Avengers: Endgame, but with the optimistic Far From Home was the only right one. Well, we are waiting for announcements and wondering where Disney / Marvel will move next.

Awesome movie, have you played the spiderman game yet?

Posts like these remind me that I could really go for making time to watch the latest Spider Man movies. They may not shine like a Captain America or Iron Man, but they always seem to provide some solid entertainment.
