๐ฉโ๐ณ Cambodian Ladle Cakes "Num Kam-Pong" ๐ง 100% Ital Recipe
Hi dear friends ๐๐ป. I have so much taro from the store yesterday, and I miss to eating num kam-pong in my country. Normally people buy them from a seller, and the people in the countryside like to make it vegan style.
The people in the city love to use meat and put shrimp on the top, but the prices are different. This is a snack food and some people eat it with sweet sauce also, but I love to eat it without sauce.
In this picture I open it to show you its outside is crispy and its inside is soft. Mmmmmm..... it was delicious.
In this picture I cut it by knife.
๐ฉโ๐ณ Num Kam-Pong (Ital) Recipe ๐ช

Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 1/3 cup rice
- 1 1/2 cups diced taro
- 1 1/2 cups cooked adzuki beans
- a little green onion
- 1 tbsp salt or to taste
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
Soak 1 cup of rice in water 1h to 2h, then grind it. Soak beans overnight, wash beans and boil beans until cooked. Take 1/3 cup rice, wash it and cook it with about 2 cups of water until it becomes like a porridge.
When cooled, grind rice porridge until smooth. It should be about 2 cups of ground porridge. ๐๐ผ Donโt add water to this after you grind it already.
We can use about 1 cup of leftover cooked rice for this recipe instead of ground porridge, but when we grind it we need to add a little water to it for easy grinding.
Normally, people in Cambodia love using mung beans for this recipe, but I used adzuki beans because I do not have split mung beans. I love split mung beans the most.
Put all ingredients in the bowl and stir well. I try to fry them in a ladle like Cambodian style, but it will take so long, o I have an idea to steam them first and fry them after.
I steam them 10 minutes in an idli cooker, but you can steam them in whatever you have.
Fry them until brown.
I hope you are well everywhere you are. Have a beautiful everyone and stay safe ๐.
