Fishing River Prawns in Mauritius - What an amazing experience!

Now that slowly everything looks like getting back to normal after more than 3 months with the Covid19 quarantine, we decided to go to a river just near Le Pouce mountain in Mauritius to fish some river prawns...

I remember the last time I went fishing for river prawns was more than 2 years ago...

Despite the cold and small rain - with a gray sky...we reached the fishing spot around 10.30am today...

I parked my car and we went directly to the river...

It is actually my brother in law who told me about this place having fished there 20yrs back...

On the next photo, I tried to take a picture of the river prawns, check its claw...sorry for the image quality though!

On top of river prawns, I also noticed a lot of small varieties of colored fishes...they will look nice in an aquarium...

So we caught some and brought for my daughter Rheem - She was so happy!

We got some red and yellow ones for her!

We fished for about 2 hours...and here is me catching my first prawns of the day...

My brother in law and the chef who works with me were also having a lot of fun...what a nice day and great experience indeed!

From what I understood is that in the summer months, we will get much more - so another fishing day will come up soon for sure!

But overall we were all very satisfied and enjoyed this little day out fishing at the river!

These prawns will be perfect in a tomato sauce...hmmm!!!
