How to express your thoughts effectively to understand everyone

in LifeStyle3 years ago

Communication is what builds relationships between colleagues, customers and performers, employers and job seekers. You can be a great specialist, but no one will ever know about it if you cannot clearly build communication with the employer.

The company's product may be awesome, but if customers aren't interested in listening to your presentation, they won't buy anything. And if you want to successfully lead a team, then there is nothing to say about the ability to clearly and clearly convey ideas - this is simply necessary!

In most modern professions, the ability to concisely and interestingly convey your ideas and any other information to the audience is a must-have. Therefore, this skill requires a lot of work. here are some tips on how to express your thoughts so that everyone understands you, but no one falls asleep.

No need to choose too clever, complicated words - you are not an encyclopedia. Try to build sentences simply, they should contain all the basic information. If you can say 5 words instead of 20, then better say 5, do not force people to wade through difficult terms and phrases.

But do not forget that the transition from thesis to thesis should be smooth, try not to turn sentences into some kind of chopped-off constructions.

What you say should be as meaningful as possible. Some speakers believe that lyrical digressions make the presentation interesting, but this is not the case if they do not support the main point. From secondary messages, the listener's attention is scattered, and he will not get to the point, then he will get bored, he will take out his phone and flip through the feed of social networks until the end of your speech.

So don't waste your time. If, for example, you are presenting furniture, explain what its value is, but you don't need to tell the biographies of the people who designed it.

The listener's attention is held for only 7 seconds. And in order to convey your interesting and concise information, this attention still needs to be kept. Intonation in such a situation is the first instrument. Living people do not want to listen to robots, so try to “play” with your voice.

There are exercises to help improve this aspect. For example, you can take a piece of text and try to read it in different roles, as if you are telling a story for a child, in a businesslike or seductive way. Record your voice on a voice recorder. And you will see how many different intonations you have and how to work with them. In a week or two, you will be able to control your intonations and understand how to best use them.

This is important, because then listening to you becomes completely uninteresting. Try to use metaphors and associations to make your thoughts as clear as possible.

Choose those comparisons that are close to your audience, archaeologists should not draw parallels with the motherboard.
Associations are better fixed in memory, and you can always return to them. This method makes information accessible and interesting, but does not distract from the main idea.

This is an important point, because who is interested in listening to the same words and phrases? I would not want your audience to think during one of the speeches: "Yeah, somewhere we have already heard this." A rich vocabulary makes it possible to build sentences in different ways, you will not be confused in an unexpected situation or answering a tricky question. And you will just feel at ease in front of the audience, and not feverishly memorize texts before each speech.

To expand your verbal arsenal, you can read more fiction, listen to other speakers, well, it would be nice to talk more, because practice is our everything.

When you develop communication with your audience, it is important to consider their interest.

Provide useful information for the interlocutor, do not lead some endless monologue from which the person cannot take anything out.
Remember that you are not speaking for yourself, but for the listener, so keep that in mind.

You will never convey an opinion in an interesting and understandable way if you feel uncomfortable. If you yourself are not interested in the subject of the conversation, then why should others be interested in it? Things like disinterest, confusion, discomfort are immediately noticeable and very quickly come to the fore, obscuring the idea itself.

To energize other people and force yourself to listen, you need to love communication, love to convey your ideas, and love your listeners. Otherwise, everyone will focus on how scared and uncomfortable you are. And this is a failure.
