With the beginning of the winter holidays, the parents were faced with the question of how to arrange an active and healthy rest for their children. Therefore, I have prepared a selection of interesting sports that you can do together, with the whole family.

Rock climbing

I discovered this sport for myself recently - just a year and a half ago. And very quickly I became convinced that it was accessible to everyone, regardless of gender and age.

There is a myth that it is dangerous, too extreme and that it takes a lot of effort. But practice shows that rock climbing is much easier for children. Because adults are trying to use their muscles, to show how athletic and pumped they are. And children at the level of reflexes climb exactly the way it should be done correctly. That is, they load more on the legs, which are physically stronger in a person. Therefore, children climb faster and further than adults can do without preparation.

Moreover, they are fearless. Children do not think about possible dangers and do not constantly look down. And on normal climbing walls they insure everyone without exception. And during the time that I have been doing this, there have been no problems.

Climbing is an incredible thrill combined with physical activity. You do it for pleasure, but only the next day you feel a soreness and understand how physically you have pumped.

I saw both children and adults squealing with pleasure at the climbing wall. And every time, climbing out on some - even a simple - wall, you seem to conquer your small peak.

Ski and snowboard

I just love mountain sports. And if you have such an opportunity, even in Ukraine, even abroad (if some countries are open), then I strongly advise you to try.

For me, it's just a must-have to go somewhere "snowboarding" at least once a season . Just imagine - winter, snow, mountains. Plus incredibly clean air.

Moreover, children from 3 years old already absolutely normally get up on skis under the guidance of a professional trainer. And from 5-6 years old you can try snowboarding. And afterwards they already drive so that sometimes even adults cannot catch up.

There are even resorts with children's groups. Adults skate there separately, and children take half a day in a circle. Then everyone meets at lunch and is very happy, because they even managed to miss each other. It is very cool.

For example, I love to look at the smiling faces and ruddy cheeks of children in ski resorts. It is immediately evident that for them it is not only a sport, but also a great pleasure.

The only drawback of this option is that it is not cheap. But my advice to you: do not waste extra money on baby equipment, because the baby will be fully grown next year. We usually rent equipment and ride for pleasure.

Swimming

As for me, this is one of the most loyal sports for everyone. On the one hand, swimming keeps the whole body in good shape, because it uses every muscle group. On the other hand, it is very gentle on the joints and does not overload your body at all.

Besides, it seems to me that everyone should learn to swim. And it is better and easier to do this in childhood. At the very least, the ability to swim will definitely protect you in the future.

It is also a great way to start hardening. Of course, you need to monitor the temperature in the pool so that the child is then dried and dressed on time. But the undoubted plus of swimming is that it is available in any season. For nothing will stop you from enjoying this sport in the indoor pool.

Checkers, chess and backgammon

Let me remind you that these are not only board games, but also sports disciplines. Although they do not pump muscles, at least they develop the brain and strategic thinking very strongly.

In addition, active brain activity burns calories in about the same way as sports. This does not mean at all that you need to give up all other activities. But this is also a cool and useful skill. If you find the right approach and interest the child, then you can have a great time with the whole family and even arrange a mini-championship.

Own sports

If you can find various videos on YouTube with older children and do exercises, then you need to play with kids. And if you do not have the opportunity to organize a certain sport for them on vacation, then you can independently come up with some interesting physical activity.

For example, we have two games that we created together with Marik. One is tossing socks into a potty. This is a kind of basketball. You just fold your socks into a ball and take turns trying to get them to the pot.

The second game is escape from the robot vacuum cleaner. We hide from him every evening. The rules are as follows: you need to get into the room so that the robot does not see you, grab a book for evening reading and run away from the living room unnoticed. We called it " Operation Vacuum Cleaner".

The main thing is to connect imagination. And even at home during a lockdown, you can come up with incredible entertainment.
