Comparison steals our joy

Hello Steemit community! I hope you have a fruitful, productive day, and that all the adversity you are facing today is just a small episode in your life.
Today I want to talk to you about an extremely important issue in building a healthy self-esteem… It is something that I have struggled with for years…
Insecure people generally have the defect of not seeing our own virtues, we mainly see our defects, instead of taking advantage of every resource that God has provided us with. And so we go through life ... wasting our potential trying to fit into a society with stereotypes, the perfect way of life that social networks teach us, perhaps wanting to change something about our appearance, feeling miserable for not having been born with the advantages that others have ... Although it is true, we should not be conformists. It is not healthy to live with unrealistic expectations, believing the false idea that if we become more physically beautiful we will be accepted by society ...
One of the worst consequences of insecurity and dissatisfaction is comparison. That silent enemy that accompanies us. Each human being has a purpose for which he was created, God endowed each of us with virtues and characteristics that make us unique.
Yes, I know that you have heard numerous times that "true beauty is the interior", but if you look closely, it is the only one that does not perish, the only one that cannot be taken away and that can only be seen when you look at it with the eyes of the soul.

True beauty is not measured by what we see with the naked eye. Authentic beauty is an attitude. You are the kindness that you express when speaking, the forgiveness you grant when others offend you, the sincere empathy you have for someone who goes through a difficult situation. You are the generosity that you express when sharing what you do NOT have with someone, the TOLERANCE before anyone who makes you impatient and the humility of not making others feel less than you.
We live worrying about appearances, being outlandish, and avoiding clashing with the conventionality that confines our magnificence from the world that surrounds us... Also, for not being like such and such person. But let me tell you that you are unique, and that you can go to God to discover your true worth.
And at the end of the day, there is no makeup that can beautify an ugly heart.

Every day you choose in which mirror to look at yourself. One is called the "social" mirror and the other the "real" mirror. The social mirror reflects the way others see you and is a way of comparing yourself to others, it can lead you to think things like "I'm prettier than her" or "He's smarter than me"; and the real one, on the contrary, reflects your true being, is based on your potential and the best of your personality

Tips to improve your own self-esteem:

  1. See the best of you
  2. Build your personality and competence
  3. Learn to like yourself with flaws and everything.
  4. Don't be obsessed with the opinions of others
  5. Try to improve
  6. Don't be hypercritical with every imperfection of yours
