THE DIARY GAME: FRIDAY JANUARY 13, 2023 (HOME ROUTINES, LAB WORK, ATTENDING A FUNERAL AND GOING FOR SHOPPING)
Hello friends of this amazing community,
I hope by the grace of the Almighty God everyone here is faring well and I hope the year has begun well for all of us? I am always pleased to share with you all my activities of the day, always very exhausting.
I woke up at exactly 6:05am, brushed my teeth, took my bath, and set off for work. I got there at 7:37am, signed in after which I dusted and disinfected the machines and work areas( biological hood and benches). After I was done with my regular morning lab duties, my boss summoned me so that we go into the stores to take that stock level of our unit products.
Taking stock level in the store room
This activity of taking the stock level took us about 30 minutes before I was called to a different unit to assist in the processing of samples of a project that was going on there. My activity there was to spin the samples that were collected in the phlebotomy, after which I labeled them with sticker IDs.
Processing samples
We processed 100 samples and packaged them to be shipped outside Ghana to some laboratories for further processing and documentation of results, which took us about four(4) hours that’s from 10am to 2pm.
I went for lunch when I was done with everything I was assigned to, I was provided with food and water from the project, so going to buy food was not necessary.
Taking lunch
I finished eating and I rested for a few minutes and went back to my permanent unit and read some results.
Reading sensitivity results
This activity brought my lab activity to an end for the day. I also attended a funeral with my brass band group around 4pm to a nearby community, not far from my work place.
In the car with our band
We left the mortuary at 4:10pm and arrived at the funeral house at 4:42pm. When we arrived at the house, we stopped playing and some traditions were carried, even before the dead body was taken into the inner room for morning. This tradition is done to signify that the dead person is accepted or not accepted as their own. When the body was accepted as their own, we resumed playing and they then took it into the room. We stood there and played for about 30 minutes after which we left for our various homes.
We left the funeral house to our band house and dropped our instruments and everybody went their way. From our band house, I went back to town to buy some few things because going home and going back to town would have been waste of time and energy.
Buying shoe polish
I left the provisions shop and proceeded to and electrical shop to buy a ceiling fan hook 🪝 and a fan controller, after which I chattered a “Yellow yellow”🛺 and went back home.
I got home at around 6:30pm, went into the shower and took my bath. After I had taken my bath, food was served for supper so I ate and rested for a while whilst watching television.
My day finally came to an end after I said my night prayers and went to bed. I praised and thanked the Almighty God for making my day a successful one, for guiding all my steps outside and back home, and also for all the good luck, love and care I obtained from friends and relatives.
Thank you all for reading through my work
