Your body’s digestive tract is made up of numerous organs that work together to break down, absorb, and process all of the nutrients in the food you consume. When digestive function is disrupted, bloating, gas, weight gain, fatigue, constipation or diarrhea, and abdominal pain ensue.
Indigestion is caused by and worsened due to overeating particularly rich, fatty, excessively sugary and salty foods, alcohol, coffee, and other acidic foods.

These longevity will help you keep good health.

1. EAT LESS TO LIVE LONGER
When you overeat to something, you stress your digestive and other organ systems, consuming precious energy by overworking your system, and producing more waste products and toxins. Eating less improves your overall digestion by boosting metabolism and allowing you to absorb more nutrients from your food.
Try to control the amount of food you eat at each meal by stopping when your stomach is three-quarters full.

2. EAT FIVE SMALLER MEALS A DAY
Eating five small meals a day is the way to delivers a steady stream of nutrients, blood sugar, and energy to your body throughout the day and is much less taxing on the digestive and metabolic systems than eating large, heavy meals.

3. EAT YOUR MEALS ON TIME
Most importantly, never eat right before bedtime unless you want your stomach to be working all night long!
Your body functions best when fed at regular intervals. As a general rule, I suggest eating your meals during these times.
• Breakfast should be eaten between 6:00 and 9:00 a.m.
• A mid-morning snack can come between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m.
• Lunch should be between 12:00 and 1:30 p.m.
• A mid-afternoon snack can come between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m.
• Dinner should be eaten between 6:00 and 7:30 p.m.

4. EAT SLOWLY AND ENJOY YOUR FOOD
Eating too quickly can easily lead to eating too much. It takes roughly twenty minutes for your brain to signal your stomach that it’s full, yet by that time, you may have already eaten enough dinner for two people if you haven’t taken your time to enjoy your food!

5. TAKE YOUR MEALS SITTING DOWN
Focus on the flavor and texture of the food, Do not eat at your computer. Do not eat while you are running to your next appointment. Do not eat in your car. Sit down at the table, and interact with others during your meal. This way you will not overeat, you will enjoy your meal more heartily, and your food will be more easily digested.

6. EAT FOR YOUR BODY, NOT YOUR TASTE BUDS
Before eating, ask yourself if your food choices will positively contribute to your health and well-being or if they will cause future problems and discomfort. A lot of people “live to eat” instead of “eating to live”. They eat lavishly and decadently, falsely fulfilling their bellies in place of their hearts.

7. EAT FOR THE RIGHT REASONS
We sometimes eat out of habit at a certain time of day without realizing that we are not even hungry. Before eating anything, ask yourself, would you eat an apple, a banana, or a vegetable instead? If the answer is no, then you’re not actually hungry. If the answer is yes, listen to your body and eat healthy foods.

8. BRING AWARENESS TO MEALTIME
• Instead of chips or sugary snacks, get your crunch from fresh vegetables.
• Satisfy your sweet tooth with fresh fruit, instead of a high-calorie muffin or a sugary treat.
• Stave off hunger between meals and keep your energy high with protein packed trail mix.
