RE: Australian excursionist in my home studio!
for months has been lugging a Magic: The Gathering deck hoping to play a few games. I did that, and crushed his hopes and dreams.
Aww.., you might have killed his enthusiasm for ever!
HA! I don't think so, @slobberchops. He's a regular MTG player amongst his friends. @tarotbyfergus and I have developed our own play style, and it's always big home runs. We take quite a bit of damage in the early mana curve, but then come in with big knockouts. For me, it's Overwhelming Splendor, Cruel Reality and Captive Audience. I like awful, high mana curses. He seemed more amused than anything, I think because cards like that are high mana, and don't see a lot of play in most deck lists. I was also a good sport about winning, telling him that decks like mine have major weaknesses against tokens, like the ones @vermillionfox builds. He went home excited to build a token spawner deck and come back to @caffetto.
Haha, no net decks for you then? I find them boring.. it was better in the early days when the internet was in it infancy.. you never knew what was coming at you.
