Marble Sister, Standing Lone

Before you were taken, thieved from under the blazing sun
You stood beautifully, tall and strong
Now trapped inside a guarded room
Ceilings too low for all your posture
Unaware of the empty spot left for only you
Surrounded by statues carved from the same flesh and stone
Separated by land and water
Ripped away by man and chisel
For over 200 years you have been away
Far too long for any forgiveness to be made

You will return there
To Athens, your childhood home

You will return home
As home is waiting for you
Your sisters are waiting for you

You must come home
