And, well, as far as scanners... there's what I have, and then there's what I would actually recommend.
What I currently have is an Canon MP495 printer/scanner combo. Not the greatest, but if you know how to flex it and edit after then you can get some acceptable results.
What I would recommend, however, would not be a combo like that, but rather something more the caliber of an Epson V600 flatbed scanner or higher. Would probably set you back about $170-$230.
