Buen día y muy feliz domingo preciada audiencia, el día de hoy les quiero compartir unas fotos que tomé de una tormenta a varios kilómetros de distancia el 18 de septiembre del 2020.

Para estas fotografías, coloqué la cámara en el modo de escena deportiva, lo cual me configura una velocidad de obturación bastante alta sin tomar en cuenta la ausencia de iluminación.

Debí presionar el botón de tomar la fotografía a medio recorrido para que enfocara (a la nada realmente, por estar en completa oscuridad la cámara no tiene ninguna referencia para el enfoque automático) y con esto no perder esas valiosas décimas de segundo que tarda en realizar el enfoque, para luego, al apenas iluminarse las nubes por un relámpago, terminar de presionar el botón por completo para que hiciera la fotografía.

Al día siguiente recordé que la cámara tiene un modo de tomar una ráfaga de fotografías a alta velocidad (que aún no he utilizado), lo cual me fuese ayudado a obtener mejores tomas, pero al momento de tomar las fotos lo olvidé por completo.

En total capturé poco menos de 90 fotografías, de las cuales en sólo una docena de ellas logré capturar algo (de resto fue completa oscuridad😅), y de esta selección, en sólo dos pude fotografiar un rayo (aunque uno de ellos apenas se ve, fue muy pequeño debido a que ocurrió entre nubes y no en dirección al suelo).

In total, I captured a little less than 90 pictures, of which in only a dozen of them I managed to capture something (of the rest it was complete darkness😅), and from this selection, in only two I was able to photograph a lightning bolt (although one of them is barely visible, it was very small because it happened between clouds and not towards the ground).

Sin lugar a dudas, esta es mi favorita de todas las que tomé; como fue una de las primeras que tomé (la sexta en realidad), fue mi motivación a seguir intentando volver a fotografiar otro rayo. / Without a doubt, this is my favorite of all the pictures I took; as it was one of the first I took (the sixth actually), it was my motivation to keep trying to photograph another lightning bolt again.

Está presente mucho ruido en las imágenes por la configuración que coloca la cámara en el modo de escena deportiva, la misma no está diseñada para condiciones de poca luz, pero fue de utilidad por la alta velocidad del obturador que otorga. / A lot of noise is present in the images because of the setting that places the camera in sport scene mode, it is not designed for low light conditions, but it was useful because of the high shutter speed it gives.

Probé incrementando bastante el aumento óptico a donde ocurrían los relámpagos, pero no sabía a donde estaba apuntando con exactitud con la cámara. / I tried greatly increasing the optical magnification to where the lightning was occurring, but I did not know where I was pointing the camera exactly.

Por ende, preferí colocar muy poco aumento en su lugar para tener un campo más amplio de fotografía y recortar las copias que compartiría posteriormente. / Therefore, I preferred to put very little magnification in place to have a wider field of photography and cut out the copies I would share later.

Todo estaba en completa oscuridad por los recurrentes apagones que ocurren, logrando que sólo se lograra ver la silueta de los árboles y palmera cuando ocurría un relámpago, salvo en esta fotografía que iba pasando un vehículo iluminando los arbustos. / Everything was in complete darkness because of the recurrent blackouts that occur, making it possible to see the silhouette of the trees and the palm tree only when there was a lightning, except in this photograph that a vehicle was passing by illuminating the bushes.
