BEE FLIES
They look like a mix between a mosquito and bumblebee ...
... and they look surprisingly lovely ... a bit like some insects version of a Teddy bear.
Sometimes, at dusk, you can see them getting in small groups, to spend the night together ...
... on the ears of various grasses.
