GREEN INSIDE

in Photography4 years ago

The Green turtle is listed as a endangered species. They get their name from the fact that when they were hunted for food and their shells the flesh and fat inside was found to be green. One of the largest in the turtle family they are under attack from all sides, their habitat is being invaded by development on land and they are often caught as by catch by the fishing industry. One of their biggest enemies are plastic bags, often accidentally eaten being mistaken for jelly fish which make up part of their diet. Believed to live for 70 years lets hope that those born today get their full lifespan and we can stem the tide of extinction.
