Weekly Photography Contest #001: Help the Environment 🌱

Hello dear friends of Steemit! How are you doing all today? I hope you're having a great Monday wherever you may be on Earth.

I am very enthusiastic to share with you all our activities in school which started last week and is still going on up to now. It is called Brigada Eskwela. It's like a collaborative effort between teachers, the school, parents and the community in beautifying the school, especially its surroundings.

This is what my classroom's lobby looks now.

Last week, we started of with our group effort in beautifying our school. We dug some soil with my co-teachers to add for our plant boxes.

Then some of my co-teachers were also making plant boxes with hollow blocks.

I also recycled some old plant pots and repainted them to look good and new.

One of the best things I enjoyed over our Brigada Eskwela is that we are really happy with what we are doing. We also prepared food for our lunch together. I enjoyed cooking underneath the trees.

My fish soup or it's called nilarang here in Cebu. It's a very hearty, full of flavor fish soup. It's really good.

Tomorrow, we are still going to continue with our bayanihan or cooperative work in improving our school surroundings.

For today, I would say that it's been a great accomplishment to achieve something like these:

I think to do our share in protecting the Earth, we don't really have to do something grand. A simple act of living simple will do. Living simple would mean for me not throwing your trash anywhere, planting a tree once in your life, be with nature- that is, to take what it provides (food & shelter) and to give what it deserves (protection & conservation).
