I am glad to have been given the opportunity to participate in this contest before I go ahead, I cannot forget to say a big thank you to @worldofgeography, @bright-obias, @belenguerra also @badsha1 for this great contest which is an opportunity for all to tell the world the natural resource that is found in there local area (country).

A . What types of natural resources do you have around you and the name of the place where it is located.

Bayelsa State which is located in Southern Nigeria is one of the states known to be part of the Niger-delta states; between Delta and Rivers state. Bayelsa state is a state blessed with numerous natural resources and these includes: natural gas, crude oil, salt, silica sand and so on.

B.What is the work of those Resources?

1. Natural gas: Natural gas is a non-renewable hydrocarbon used as a source of energy for heating, cooking, and electricity generation. It is also used as a fuel for vehicles.
2. Silica sand: this can be used in the production of glass and also the filtration of water for agricultural purposes.
3. Crude oil: this is the base for many products which includes fuel, plastics, chemicals, and petroleum products.

4. Salt: this is used for the preservation and flavouring of food.

C. How it make contribution to your society?

A lot of the social amenities that we enjoy today came about as a result of the revenue generated from the sale of these natural resources.
Also sectors related to natural resources are used to provide jobs

D. Why these resources are essentiall to the economy of my country.

Natural resources both renewable and non-renewable are mainly the wealth of a Nation. They contribute in the direction of both fiscal revenue and poverty reduction.
