It's been a while since I joined contests here in Steemit so when I learned about this specific contest, I know I have to join. Here's the blog post about the contest:

Going straight to the topic, I only had one thing in mind when I first read the title of the contest and that's none other than the white sand beaches of my country, the Philippines.

Living in an archipelago offers none other than beautiful and warm white sand beaches. While there are so many things to love about our country, this is what I thought would give my readers a hint of what our country is all about, and in this way, I can also be able to share the experience through my photos and videos.

There are 7,641 islands in the country and each island offers different types of beaches! There is more than just white sand, there are even black, pink and even a beach filled with shells!

I have been to several of these beaches and let me share with you my top two favorites.

Boracay Island

Perhaps the most famous beach in the Philippines. It has powder-like white sand and it offers a long beach stretch too! Not to mention the beautiful sunset that it offers as well.

In several years ago, this island has been awarded as the best. This year, it was awarded 2nd in Condé Nast Traveler's 25 Best Island Beaches in the World: Readers' Choice Awards in 2020.

Being famous also has its disadvantages which include improper garbage disposal and a lot more but this has been addressed to two years ago when the island was closed for clean up and renovation.

Although this is a pretty good beach, in fact, a top-notch, I still prefer the next on the list and that is...

Seven Commandos Island, El Nido, Palawan

My husband and I went on a honeymoon in Palawan and on our first day, we were stranded here for around three hours. The island was our last trip for the island hopping package. The case was more of a blessing as we were able to witness the beautiful sunset.

I choose this as my top favorite because of its simplicity. When we went there, there were only a few people around. It feels very personal and the view shows giant islets with pretty structures. I could take photographs without getting other tourists in the picture!

The Philippines' all-year summer weather allows everyone to enjoy the beach and sand any time of the year. There have been thousands of tourists who came to check these beaches in the country and they keep coming back!

But due to the pandemic, there are so many plans and travels that have been put to a halt. I do hope that after the pandemic, the tourism in the country would grow back.

Hacía tiempo que no me unía a los concursos aquí en Steemit, así que cuando me enteré de este concurso en concreto, supe que tenía que participar. Aquí está el post del blog sobre el concurso:

Yendo directamente al tema, sólo tenía una cosa en mente cuando leí el título del concurso y no es otra que las playas de arena blanca de mi país, Filipinas.

Vivir en un archipiélago no ofrece otra cosa que hermosas y cálidas playas de arena blanca. Aunque hay muchas cosas que amar de nuestro país, esto es lo que pensé que daría a mis lectores una pista de lo que es nuestro país, y de esta manera, también puedo ser capaz de compartir la experiencia a través de mis fotos y vídeos.

Hay 7.641 islas en el país y cada una de ellas ofrece diferentes tipos de playas. No sólo hay arena blanca, sino también negra, rosa e incluso una playa llena de conchas.

He estado en varias de estas playas y permítanme compartir con ustedes mis dos favoritas.

Isla de Boracay

Quizás la playa más famosa de Filipinas. Tiene una arena blanca como el polvo y además ofrece una larga extensión de playa. Por no hablar de la hermosa puesta de sol que ofrece también.

Hace varios años, esta isla ha sido premiada como la mejor. Este año, fue galardonado con el 2 º en Condé Nast Traveler's 25 mejores playas de la isla en el mundo: Readers' Choice Awards en 2020.

El hecho de ser famosa también tiene sus desventajas, entre las que se incluyen la eliminación inadecuada de la basura y muchas otras cosas, pero esto se solucionó hace dos años, cuando se cerró la isla para limpiarla y renovarla.

Isla de los Siete Comandos, El Nido, Palawan

Mi marido y yo fuimos de luna de miel a Palawan y en nuestro primer día, nos quedamos varados aquí durante unas tres horas. La isla era nuestro último viaje para el paquete de salto de isla. El caso fue más bien una bendición, ya que pudimos presenciar la hermosa puesta de sol.

La elegí como mi favorita por su sencillez. Cuando fuimos allí, sólo había unas pocas personas alrededor. Se siente muy personal y la vista muestra islotes gigantes con bonitas estructuras. ¡Pude hacer fotos sin que otros turistas salieran en la foto!

El clima veraniego de Filipinas permite disfrutar de la playa y la arena en cualquier momento del año. Han sido miles los turistas que han venido a comprobar estas playas del país y ¡siguen volviendo!

Pero debido a la pandemia, hay muchos planes y viajes que se han paralizado. Espero que después de la pandemia, el turismo en el país vuelva a crecer.
