WEEKLY CONTEST : "Home Garden / Gardening " For Steem Geography Community

By @brenda,Hi friends I will be talking about my garden.

My garden is made up of different types of crops like* bitter leaf(vernonia amygdalina)
*Water leaf(Talinum Fruticosum)
*Curry leaf(Murraya koenogii)
*Ugu(Telfairia Occidentalis)
*Okra(Abelmoschus esculentus)
*Maize(zea maize)
*Cocoyam (colocasia esculenta).

#All what I have listed above are all what makes up my home garden.

#cocoyam(colocasia esculenta)is most commonly grown for it's starchy edible roots.colocasia is grown for it's corm which is consumed after boiling, frying or roasted.The corms can be dried and used to make flour or sliced and fried to make chips.

#Water leaf(Talinum Fruticosum)can be planted with it's seeds or stem.Here in South of Nigeria,many plant by inserting the stem.Interestingly, unlike other plants, waterleaf is able to grow without it's main root when inserted into the soil.

#okra(Abelmoschus esculentus)are known in many English speaking countries as lady's fingers or gumbo) is a flowering plant in the mallow family, related to cotton and hibiscus.It is valued for it's edible green seed pods.

#Bitter leaf(vernonia amygdalina)it is know as bitter leaf and may be used as active anti-bacteria,anti-malarial,and anti-parasitic agent.This plant contains complex active components that are pharmacologically useful.

I love my garden so much because I made it out of just little money and am gaining alot.I don't go to the market to buy what to cook I go to my garden and get what I want to cook.
