My Street

My street is Known as Azumini street. It is located at Elioparanwo Road, off Wimpey by Ada- George. My street links to Iwofe by Gas, Elioparanwo by Car wash and Oroekpo by Istan secondary school.
It is located Just at the heart of Elioparanwo.

Activities that makes my street special

My street is know for its high commercial activities, this is as a result of constant power supply and accessible roads at the beginning of the street.

There is a mini market at the beginning of the street. This has helped to ease the stress of going to major markets. The things sold at the market is very cheap and of great quality and quantity.

Apart from market, my street also has a standard pharmacy where drugs are sold.
Apart from drugs, treatments are also administered, in cases of emergency.

My street also has a standard store where fabrics are sold and also made.
This has helped reduce the stress of travelling to other states or places for quality fabrics.

To ease the stress of going to the bank for withdrawals and cash transfer, there is a POS stand. DSTV subscriptions are also made.

There is a mini guest house and restaurant located at my street.

Issues Associated with my street

Despite the numerous special activities my street is known for, it has negative issues which are very significant

My street is very narrow, and has a bend corner. This bend corner has lead to serious accidents among motorist. It has also lead to serious traffic especially during morning and Evening hours.

Apart from the issue of narrow road, towards the ending part of my street, the road is very bad. It is usually unaccessible. It is usually flooded when it rains, this has caused lots of suffering to the people residing there. This issue is as a result of lack of drainage.

There is also improper disposal of refuse waste. People living in my street dispose their waste on the road, especially when it rains.

There is high rate of robbery at my street especially at night. This robbery is as a result of the linkage. The street connects to different locations. When robbery activities are carried out, the perpetrator escapes without being caught.

solutions

At my street, every last saturday of the month, landlords and tenants meeting are held, i have made suggestion of organising local security to help curb the issue of robbery.

I have also made suggestions that mini gates should be mounted on this link streets and specific times should be set to open and lock the gates.

Currently contributions are made to help sand fill the ending parts of the street that are not accessible.

As a geographer, several times i have advised some tenants to stop throwing their waste on the roads,especially when it rains,as this will only cause more harm than good.
