Golden Bridge in Bangka Belitung Indonesia

Today I will tell you about my trip to visit a bridge which has become a tourism icon in Bangka Belitung Province. If South Sumatra has the Ampera Bridge icon, then here is the Golden Bridge which has become an icon for the province of Bangka Belitung.

The parents of my students took me and others to see this Golden Bridge.
Of course not refuse because this moment is a new experience that must be obtained so that later it can be remembered and retold to others and is a sign that I have visited this place.

Golden Bridge is located 7 km from downtown Pangkalpinang. Not too far to get to this location because at that time we were in the city of Pangkalpinang. If one day you go to Bangka, don't forget to visit this place and see the beach view from the bridge, while enjoying the sunset in the afternoon.
If the bridge is being lifted, you can take cheerful photos with the background of the bridge reading GOLD (the initials of the former governor of Bangka Belitung).
You can also go down to the beach under the bridge through the footpath 100 meters before the location of the bridge. Usually this area is busy with cyclists and local tourists who want to enjoy their relaxing time.

According to the information I received, Gold here is not made of gold, but the name was taken to commemorate one of the fathers of development in Bangka, namely Governor Eko Maulana Ali-Syamsudin Basari (abbreviated as Gold) who became Governor of Babylon for the period 2007-2012 and died before his term ended. Now the bridge which is one of the icons of Bangka Island is often visited by tourists who come to Bangka.

The Golden Bridge is located on Pasir Padi beach and Air Anyir beach connecting Bangka Regency and Pangkal Pinang City, the capital city of Bangka Belitung Province. Not far from the golden bridge we can see the beauty of other beaches in Bangka such as Air Anyir Beach, Pasir Padi and the Air Anyir steam power plant. Even people who pass by can also stop for a moment to enjoy the beauty of this bridge and take pictures with the icon of the pride of the people of Bangka. Including us who stopped long enough to take photos, moved here and there to find the best photo spots while enjoying the beautiful view of the beach.

This Golden Bridge has a uniqueness that we can see from its function where this bridge uses bascule technology, which means it can be opened and closed when large ships pass around the port which is not far from the Golden Bridge.
But unfortunately when we visited this bridge there were no large ships passing so we couldn't see the bascule technology. Maybe next time you can witness the process of opening and closing the bridge firsthand, it will be very cool.

Hopefully with some of the photos that I have included in this article, apart from being informational, it can also represent as if you were in the atmosphere at that time and become a good hope that one day you can visit this place.
