Why Aloe Vera should be a major plant in your garden|| Health Benefits of Aloe Vera.
Growing up, my mum had a plantation of aloe's if I would call it that. Every space at our backyard was filled with buckets, or bowls growing with aloes sitting pretty. I used to wonder at this, until I grew into adulthood and started seeing the natural wonders of aloe Vera.
I remember everytime I had a skin reaction or my face colour changed, my mum would ask me to go to the backyard and cut out some aloe Vera, squiz out the juice and apply on my face for a few days, and each time I did,the skin of my face would be back to its natural tone, smooth and with all reactions gone. Little wonder I was so excited seeing a planting of aloe Vera in my new compound.
What is aloe Vera and why is it one of the major ingredients in beauty products since time forgotten??
Aloe is a natural plant supplement that you can rub on your skin or take in your mouth. It is been known to cure ailments like acne, smoothen the face and even speculated to be of help for abdominal issues that's why it's taken orally.
There have been a lot of researches done on aloe Vera and it's healthy benefits but before we check these out, let's find out why its become a regular in cosmetic and cosmetological products down to even most soaps used for baths.
Aloe vera has been a very commonly known and used household plant that's been known for its abilities in skin healing.
The aloe Vera gel is known to have smoothing and soothing effects on the body, it also has repairing properties that are beneficial to the skin and hair which is the main focus of most beauty and cosmetic brands hence it's heavy and regular inclusion as an ingredient in their products.
For a few days, the skin on my face has been very rough and I didn't have any explanation to it. It wasn't sunburn, neither was it a reaction or allergy to anything so I went to our not so little farm at the house and plucked some aloe Vera. It was time to work the aloe magic.
As usual, the gel was gummy to my fingers, but cool and soothing to my face. I opened it up so I could get maximum use of the gel inside and then began scrubbing it all over my face region, down to my neck.
The aloe gel quickly dried up as I kept going in circles, round and round. By the time I was done, all the gel had been used up and only the skin of the plant was left.
What can I use the left over skin for?? I asked myself
Well this also got me researching and I found out that the skin can be eaten as well. It has been speculated to be a great aid in curing sicknesses like diabetes and high cholesterol
(though not confirmed) and seeking medical advice is advised, but if you want to chew the skin, first it must be washed thoroughly to remove all the gel or latex on it as this has a bitter taste in the mouth.
Did I tell you that a freshly cut aloe Vera gel is better to use when applying it to your face than an already packaged one??.
Yes. The already packaged aloe gel may will have some stench and odour and the aloe Vera gel colour will have changed and become yellowish. This is a very important tip you should remember.
- So, will you be trying out the aloe gel cleanser or do you already use it and what has been your experience with it so far??
