Steem-Agro Drawing Contest 19: Agriculture Through Art

Happy new month to you all, dearest members of Steem-Agro, how are you all doing? In my country, Nigeria, we are in the planting season and everyone is busy trying to plant as food is now quite expensive. We use different tools when planting and I'll be talking and showing my creative prowess on one of the tools being a shovel. I wanna appreciate @ahsansharif who has always used this platform to encourage us in farming.

MY drawing tools were made up of:

• Drawing book

• HB Pencil

• Eraser and sharpener

• coloured pencils

STEP 1:
My first step was drawing the handle of the spade. This is the part one holds while working. I got this by drawing a triangle shape and duplicating it.

STEP 2:
In my step 2, I drew the socket and the shaft of the spade. This is where one part of the hand holds unto while one is working. I got this by drawing two vertical lines side by side and joining it to the handle of the spade.

STEP 3:
My step 3 involved drawing of the shoulder and blade of the spade. This is where whatever is digged up is carried. It takes the weight of the material digged up. I got this by drawing a square shape.

STEP 4:
In my step 4, I drew the cutting edge of the spade. This is a sharp horizontal line. This point is where things are cut and digged up.

A spade is a farming tool used in digging and moving things from one short distance to another. If has a long handle with a square face surface. It also has a flat edge that is used for piecing things. A spade has varieties of uses in the farm.

• It is used in making ridges before planting.

• A spade is used for planting and transplanting crops.

• A spade is also used for cutting things into pieces using the sharp edge.

• A spade is also used for moving things from one distance to another.

• Spades are used for digging holes in the farm.

• One can also use spades to turn the soil especially when adding manure.

• Spades are used for removing hard ricks and unwanted plants.
