Basic knowledge In Agriculture

Greetings everyone who are in this wonderful community, I feel so happy being among the steemians here. My country Nigeria takes agriculture so serious because we are richly blessed with raw materials and many more.

Today's contest which is solely on photosynthesis, plant nutrients, mixed and crop rotation. I will be using the contest hints to drop a post here.

In your own word what's photosynthesis and why is important in agriculture
Long before now, I have heard much about the word photosynthesis right from my nursery till date. There are several explanations about the word of which I will give a simple explanation about the word.
Photosynthesis is a process whereby plants convert light energy directly from the sun into chemical energy as compound. Photosynthesis is a clear source of nutrients to the plants which aids their growth and survival. Apart from plants benefiting from it we the humans survive through it when the take in carbon and send out oxygen.

Photosynthesis plays a major role in plants growth such as: Regulating the climate and completing food chain. Photosynthesis plays a very important role in plants, animal and human's life.

What are the key essential nutrients required by plants and what role does each of them plays in plant growth

The plant nutrients is being classed into two being the primary and secondary nutrients, it can be also known as macro and micro nutrients.
The primary nutrients should be one that's essential for green leaves and poor growth.

For the primary nutrients we have

❤️Nitrogen: this nutrients helps prevent plants stunted growth and leaf deficiency colours. The greener part of a leaf shows nitrogen availability.

❤️ Phosphorus: it helps extend the plant roots into the growth also enabling fruit development and growth.

The secondary nutrients

We have several secondary nutrients that helps plant grow well which include:
❤️Sulphur: that helps reduce plants diseases and some deficiency.

❤️ Magnesium: magnesium helps in energy boosting.

Briefly explain mixed farming and crop rotation

❤️Mixed farming involves the practice of growing plants, crops and rearing of livestock on the same piece of land. Here in my country so many people practice that alot, growing plants such as cassava, plantain and at the same time rearing broilers in that Same farm.

❤️Crop rotation thereby involves growing several crops on the same piece of land. Crop rotation is mostly done here in my country where you see a farmer growing cucumber, garden egg, pepper and others on the same piece of land.

Three roles of agriculture in my country
❤️Job offers:
Agriculture creates lots of work for the working class thereby reducing poverty and crime involvement in the country. So many people can be employed to work in the different sectors to speed up the process.

❤️ Creation of revenue: revenue are derived through agriculture. Agricultural products are been sold to other countries which create revenue to the country for infrastructure development .

❤️ Food provision: Agriculture is a sure food provision scheme, You reap what you sew. Most homes survives mainly on land cultivation and growing of crops.
