How are you all doing and trust you all are okay. Its a privilege to join in the Steemit content engagement which has us discussing about "My Soil Enhancement Methods".

What do you understand by soil enhancement? Have you practised it before?

Soil ehancement involves the use of different materials or methods to improve soil chemical, physical and biological properties ehancing plant growth, sustainability and fertility of the soil.
Yes, i had practised soil enhancement with my mum and siblings too its always fun to do this with them.

How does your soil enhancement method improve soil fertility in the long term?

There are several mechanisms by which i improve soil fertility in the long term which includes;

• Biologically improvement: This involves soil food webs which enhances microbial activities that supports beneficial miorganism and worms.

• Chemical Enhancements: Chemicals ehancement includes fetilizers,compost and manure and this components replenishe the nutrients essential nutrients in soil.

What organic materials or amendments have you used to improve soil quality?

There are organic used in amending soil is to provide a better soil quality and environment for roots which includes;

• Fertilizers: This particular organic are mostly used by farmers and non farmer and its common. The more the application of fertilizers to the soil, the higher the soil vitamin. This is bad. Excessive use of fertilizers and inorganic methods degrades soil quality. Although the use of fertilizer eliminates the microorganisms in the soil that improves and provide nutrients. Therefore, it is right to use only the necessary amount, this is usually known after carrying out a soil test.

• Compost: Compost is decomposed organic material that is added to soil to provide nutrients to sustain plant growth. Compost also helps to improve soil structure and water-holding capacity, and supports soil microbial that are integral to plant health.These may be a combination of plant-based compost, manure-based composts and other agriculture by-products such as cabbages, egg shells, chicken feathers etc.

In a legal sense compost is not regulated for nutrient content, ompost is not a fertilizer though it contains plant-available nutrients. Compost made solely from plant-­based products such as wood chips and yard wastes are usually lower in salts than animal-based products. However, they are generally more expensive as well, and can still have salt levels too high for plant and soil growth.
Feed your gardens with compost manure it really helps the soil.

• Manure: Most people and farmers have recognize the value of animal
waste as a plant nutrient source or soil amendment,
but the potential of manure, especially poultry litter, water wastes from fish ponds,neutralise soil acidity and raise soil pH.

What are the practices you have used to retain moisture in your soil ?

The practice I've used to retain moisture in my soil are
Eliminating of weeds and adding of organic matters I'll explain how i practised;

• Eliminate of weed: under this weed elimination I've practised both weeding by ploughing with my hand and using of matches or a hole.

• The use of manure: This practice is quite messy and awful but it brings high moisture to the soil and plants too. Manure like pig excrete, chicken and many more.
