The term "Aquaculture" is the study of breeding, raising, and harvesting of aquatic animals and plants in water environments like ponds, and lakes etc. Aquaculture serves as a great and legit source of food, income, and a source of livelihood for so many people across the globe. Aquaculture produces a great range of seafoods including fish, shrimp, crabs, crayfish and the rest.

2.Types of Aquaculture:

There are different types of aquaculture practiced according to the environment, species, and methods used. Some of the common types of aquaculture include:

• Freshwater aquaculture:

in this type of aquaculture, practiced species like catfish, tilapia, or crab in ponds, or lake.

• Integrated aquaculture:

in this type of aquaculture. Agricultural practices are combined e.g rice-fish farming.

• Marine aquaculture:

in this type of aquaculture. species like shrimp, salmon or oysters are practiced in coastal waters or offshore.

• Brackish water aquaculture:

in this type of aquaculture. species like shrimp or crabs are practiced in waters with a mix of fresh and saltwater.

3.The challenges in Aquaculture and possible solutions to those problems:

These challenges includes;

• Feed and nutrition:

Problems: Providing sustainable feed ingredients is a great challenge.
Solutions: So to solve this challenge, Improving feed efficiency or alternative protein sources should be used to solve this challenge

• Disease management:

Problems: Diseases can inconvenience aquaculture operations.
Solutions: In solving this challenge, the use of disease-resistant species, vaccination, and better biosecurity measures should be considered in solving this issue.

• Environmental impacts:

Problems: This could be habitat disruption or water pollution.
Solutions: To solve this challenge, recirculating systems should be used, and better management practices should be applied.

•Market and economic challenges:

Problems: Cost can affect profitability or Fluctuating market prices.
Solutions: To solve this challenge, products should be diversified, market should be improved, and cost-effective practices should be adopted.
