Nirvana is a grunge band from Aberdeen, United States, consisting of Kurt Cobain (vocals & guitar), Krist Novoselic (bass), and Dave Grohl (drums). The band had early success in the city of Seattle, America.

The band first performed in 1987 with the current formation, Kurt Cobain (vocals & guitar), Krist Novoselic (Bassis), and Aaron Burckhard (drums) and at that time the band was not yet called Nirvana. In late 1987 Aaron decided to leave the band for no apparent reason, and in early 1988 Chad Channing (drums) and Jason Everman (second guitarist) joined the band. But at the end of 1989 Jason resigned and was followed by Chad Canning, then Dave Grohl joined to fill Chad Channing's left position as a drummer in 1990, then the name Nirvana was inaugurated.
In 1998 Nivana's first single, "Love Buzz" was released. At that time Kurt brought a copy of the recording to KCMU radio for playback. After that Kurt went straight listened to the radio and waited for the song to play, but the song didn't play, so Kurt called the radio via a public telephone to request his own song, and then the song played. An irony for a big Rock Star who had to request his own song to be played.

In 1991 Nirvana moved labels from Sub Pop to Geffen Records, Nirvana was under the auspices of Geffen Records with Guns N 'Roses. In the same year they released a new album entitled "Nevermind", with the hit "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Initially, Geffen Records targeted this album to be at least 250 thousand copies, but unexpectedly, "Nevermind" actually achieved sales of up to 400 thousand copies per week in America.

At that time, almost all radios in the world played Nirvana's single "Smells Like Teen Spirit". This time Kurt didn't have to request his own song to play it. The single also skyrocketed with the highest frequency in early 1992 until Nirvana's popularity managed to match Guns N 'Roses, Metallica who was very famous at that time. This year also Kurt's addiction to heroin began to go crazy, even at photo shoots Kurt couldn't stand up straight, things like this would always reveal the days of Nirvana. In 1993 Nirvana re-released an album entitled "In Utero".

The lyrics on this album are very thick with Kurt's personal life. But the prestige of this album is not as bright as the previous album. On March 2, 1994 while Nirvana was on tour in Rome, Italy Kurt had an overdose. It was Kurt's suicide attempt, when he saw him holding a meeting paper "I had to choose between life and death but I chose death".

And finally in 1994 Kurt killed himself by shooting a gun to his head, That was the sign of the end of Nirvana. Several compilation albums are still being released, and it is estimated that these albums sold around 50 million copies worldwide.
