An Jie comes home to China after 6 years of living abroad.

It was a confusing bittersweet homecoming.

There are plenty of things to settle and she doesn’t know where to begin.

Very interesting beginning.

Episode 2

An Jie was banished to Russia because she accidentally caused the miscarriage of her stepmother.

She had to tell her then-boyfriend, Ye Lin, that she was being sent abroad but he got so upset he broke up with her.

And when she called him from Russia, a woman answered the phone saying that Ye Lin did not want to talk to her.

Episode 3

Ye Lin told An Jie that he wanted to start over with her but An Jie is not interested. Ye Lin though is not giving up.

An JIe’s little brother wanted to be close to her but she was rebuffing him.

An Jie went to the company for the will of her mother regarding her stocks and shares inheritance.

Episode 4-5

An Jie studied marketing abroad instead of Art.

She was invited to present an idea board for a commercial fo Jiang’s condo.

Her first attempt was a damp squib. Xi Xi Chen told Auntie Jing (An Jie’s stepmother) that perhaps the task was too much for An Jie.

Auntie JIng said that she was training An Jie to lead Jiang corporation one day.

An Jie got inspiration from her friend so she worked again on her storyboard. She further got more ideas from Xi Xi Chen who sneaked a look on her storyboard.

When she presented her revise story, it was a hit and everyone loved it, so different from her first attempt.

Her father got to hear her success and called to speak to her.

He told her that he was glad she was back and working at JIang.

An Jie said that she was not planning to stay.

Her father suddenly collapsed and hospitalised.

He was overworked.

Ye Lin was pursuing An Jie rather aggressively and Ya Li was not happy about it. She had loved Ye Lin for more than six years, since their university days.

When An JIe was gone it was her who looked after Ye Lin sick sister.

Now Ya Li is on a vengeful mood.

Episode 6 & 7

Ya Li took her revenge on An Jie for the break up with Ye Lin.

Ya Li read the script for the Jiang Condo that was carelessly dropped by Ye Lin. Ya Li copied the script which was from An Jie’s storyboard. Ya Li then released the ads within days, and the tag line, in the end, was almost word for word.

An Jie’s dad was very annoyed with her, thinking that she might have told Ya Li about the script since Ya Li was her friend. He would not listen to anything she says. It was rather hard to reason with him as he was still very ill.

Ya Li was going mad and Ye Lin had had enough of her.

Xi Chen also exacted his revenge on Ya Li because he saw her slapped An Jie. He arranged for the diamond merchant to bypass An Jie’s company.

This drama is about finding ELVIS with a cast playing nasty people. Their wheeling and dealing got so bad that it became so tedious in the end.

They did find Elvis in the end but then again you had passed caring.

Oh by the way, who is Elvis?

Elvis was the guy who helped An Jie in her hour of need.

Her stepmother with the agreement of her father sent An Jie abroad six years ago. While abroad, she was involved in a coach accident leaving her blind.

She then ‘met’ a man who calls himself Elvis who helped her come to terms with her blindness. But during a low point, she tried to end her life by trying to jump on the hospital window but Elvis arrived and he never left her side. He treated her so well, her starved emotions for family was filled up. Elvis became her mother, father, brother, boyfriend rolled into one until she had her eye operation.

As they unrolled the bandage from her eyes, the shadowy Elvis started to move away and then he was gone.

An Jie has never forgotten him until she met Xichen who reminded her of Elvis.

But Xichen betrayed her and then she was back to looking for Elvis until episode 48, she found out for sure that Elvis is Xichen.

His betrayal was not really as such. It was revenge against his auntie, An Jie’s stepmother.

And the rest of the cast who were so fallible and some pathologically obnoxious had their own happily ever after. 🙁

Karma is absent in this drama.
