Hello community! I am a programmer who is interested in creating and developing music for video games.
Today I want to talk about music for games. This topic seems to be very ineresting though usually music is not taken into account in this sphere, because those who play are more interested in graphics and game mechanics. But music is important, because it is difficult to imagine a computer game without musical accompaniment.
At the dawn of the formation of video games, they were just simple melodies, but gradually they turned into musical compositions that in some way can compete even with musical hits.
Creating music for games is not easy, this process takes a lot of time and effort, because you need to convey the mood of the game, its atmosphere and immerse the gamer in the world of this game.Properly selected music can evoke emotions in a gamer.
Some composers use an interactive system in music, that is, the music corresponds to the events taking place in the frame. For example, when a gamer is just exploring new locations, the music can be calm, and when active tasks begin, the music becomes more dynamic.
The games use not only modern music, but also classical music.For example, in the game Far Cry, you can hear Wagner, the Flight of the Valkyries, or Mozart in Bioshock Infinite.
But it's still best when the original soundtrack is recorded for the game. They can be found in games such as Silent Hill or Bastion.
These melodies can become so popular that they sound even in conservatories and are played by orchestras.
I will name just a few names of composers whose music from games is very popular. It's Jeremy Soul, Jack Wall or Hans Zimmer.
