SBS Inkigayo Music Show Cancels Today Due to Halloween Tragedy in Itaewon
Halloween party in Itaewon, Seoul, South Korea, Saturday (29/10/2022) night turned into a tragedy. About 149 people died after being trapped and crammed into such a large crowd.
Due to grief, the weekly music program SBS Inkigayo decided to cancel its broadcast today, Sunday (10/30/2022). The production party also asked for the understanding of the fans.
"Today, October 30, Inkigayo episode 1160 will not be broadcast. We inform you that today's pre-recording and fan reception in the live broadcast have also been cancelled," said the production team, quoted by Soompi.
Not only SBS Inkigayo, the Halloween party event that was originally going to be held by SM Entertainment artists today has also been canceled.
It is known, SM Entertainment originally intended to broadcast a live broadcast of SMTOWN Wonderland 2022 through the Beyond Live platform. They have also delivered an official statement regarding the tragedy.
"The live broadcast of the SMTOWN Wonderland 2022 red carpet, which was scheduled to be broadcast for free for Kwangya Club Ace members on the Beyond Live global platform for about 1 hour starting at 18:15, has been cancelled," wrote SM Entertainment.

"It's really heartbreaking what happened to those people... May they rest in peace," said one fan.
"I can't even imagine how the people trapped in the raid in Itaewon felt. It's so scary. My heart hurts for all those who lost their lives," added another.
