My Opinion About Farming As A Profession By @nsisong2022

Hello everyone, good evening to you all, hope your day went as planned? Welcome back to my blog. Thank you to @bonaventuer24 for organizing His first edition of contest with such an interesting and mind blowing caption and I'm glad to be one of the contestants, I wish everyone participating in this contest a success as we embrace farming as a noble profession. Thank you for having me in your midst this hour.

🎯 Is farming a good profession? Let's hear from your opinion.

Ohh Yes! Farming is a good profession which is derived from agriculture,as other profession are important farming is the overall of all other profession since it has to do with the production of food. Almost every man earnings is spent on food on daily basis and moreover, food is something Man can't do without, for instance,if you are sick and you are admitted in the hospital doctors will recommend that you eat first before any medication is given that shows how important farming is and we should take it more serious and without farming food cannot be produced. It's on this note that I can draw my conclusion that"Farming is a good profession"and many hands should be involved in it in order to bring about food sufficiency in Nigeria and Akwa Ibom State has a whole.

The advantages are enormous compared to disadvantages; Being a farmer is good because you will not lack food at all times especially peasants farmer who only produce to satisfy their family want. Aside from producing food for family, being a farmer leads to income generation like any other profession especially when venturing into commercial farming. A farmer can whereas utilize raw materials from other factor of production and convert it into useful products.

Disadvantage of being a farmer, people don't really recognize the essence and important of farming and sometimes looked down on them, that makes it seem like a dirty Job.

Secondly, if one don't have technical know-how on each farming operations it can lead to losses.

Yes of course, have been and there are different types of farming ranging from crop production or farming, rearing of livestock, floriculture, apiculture and so on. Since 2018-2021 have been into broiler product that's when I was still under graduates managing it for my brother. We have broiler for meat production and layers for eggs, during COVID-19 period the Farm close down due to restrictions of movement, scarcity and supply of feeds and eggs was the major problem. Currently I'm venturing into crop production in which I plant water leave, vegetables and Yam, but in small quantity for family consumption.

Because of high cost of vegetable in my area I decided to go into producing own mainly for family consumption which as cut down cost on expenses and I can cook it at its fresh state which is more palatable and tasty.
