Overheating conditions in my region.

Throughout last week, my brother have been sleeping outside in the compound, the worst part of it is that, it's almost 3 months now and our light has not been fixed. The street transformer sparked and got burnt where we reported the incident to the PHCN official. We are now suffering from heat and electricity.

Good day my friends and everyone in the community, it's my first time participating in this community to share the overheating condition in my region. I'm @mhizta from Nigeria, welcome to my blog.

At last month which is March, the temperature was very harsh, and there was no rain fall at all, it was as if the move the sun closer to our region. People were complaining on Social, there was some people who make use of the opportunity to do skit. If someone presents you a million naira and a electric fan or air conditioner, you'll choose a fan or air conditioner over the million naira.

Like I said earlier, my brother find it difficult to sleep at night so he had to put mat outside in the compound with a mosquito net. This over heating affects the poor and the people who could not afford the electricity the most. The over heating makes it difficult for new seed and plant to grow because there's no water for survival. So the overheating doesn't not only affect the humans, it affects the plants too.

♦️I must say I also suffer from it. My profession includes arranging, lifting, parking and offloading. I work as a sales personnel. I will off-load good when my boss brought it from the market, I will pack it inside the shop, I will then arrange it to where it's supposed to be*. Here is an example:

At this process, you'll always expect more sweat coming out of the body, I always felt dehydrated, because the water in my body is been evaporating through the sweat. So I have to drink water always and in most cases pouring water on my head.

How it affected my profession is that during the overheating period, there are some good that are not favorable with heat environment. For example, am selling can malt, trophy, Stout and Heineken. All this drinks if it exposed to sunlight it will burst. So I had to park all of them inside because of the hot weather.

It's also causes dust to the environment, because the sand is very dry and hot, it's turns to dust, this dust is not good for the body because it may result in catarrh and running nose. This are some of the ways I can explain how overheating affected some or my profession.

In many ways, I did a lot of things to protect myself and others from the intense heat.

♦️I help people in shade, some people who looks tired, maybe they want to wait for someone or wait for a cab, taxi and whatever, i always lend a helping hand by asking them to come into shade, i give them a seat and also help them to get cooled drink or bottle water to cool their throat.

♦️Secondly, I also make sure I wore a face mask when there's dust in other to protect myself from inhaling the dust, which can cause serious catarrh.

♦️I do well to drink more water because I know my body is loosing water through sweat.

♦️I covered my goods outside from direct sunlight to avoid been burst because of direct sunlight, and i also stay under shade, not exposing my body to direct sunlight.
