Share a small, stress-free and profitable business idea for new entrepreneurs.

I propose the making of ice cubes. That's my simple business idea.
The ice is to be used in chillers/coolers a kind of thermos for drinks that holds Coca-Cola and Pepsi drinks and other brands for outdoor events.

To offer refreshments at outdoor Activities, events or while camping, drinks will have to be chilled, drinking hot or warm drinks under the sun provide very little refreshments if at all.

My business idea is to make ice available for chilling the drinks at outdoor events but the need for ice blocks is far beyond outdoor events only,

Which location would suit them best for the business and how much money can they start with?

This business is suitable for areas with problematic power supply. Most places in Nigeria have little to no electrical power to operate a refrigerator, a lot of small businesses that sells drinks and water do not have electricity to power their refrigerator.

Households also need this blocks of ice to keep there food from getting bad. Once there is a blackout, you are not sure when the power will be restored.

This small business will flourish in many parts of Nigeria and any place experiencing unstable power supply.

What are the possible benefits and disadvantages of this business?

Advantage
This business needs no special training at all, it has no real hazards and the pruduct has a high demand. Because the ice has a limited life span, the clients are most likely going to need a daily supply of ice. You get a steady flow of income.

Disadvantages

• You will have to generate power to make the ice.
• Running petrol to generate power is expensive and can eat into your profit.

In Akwa Ibom State, technicians will adapt an air conditioner such that it powers a large number of freezer for making ice. The water is filled in nylon bags and put in the freezer to congeal in to ice. The ice is then sold to those who are in need of them.

To maximise your profit margin, you can move to an area where the power supply is regular (Band B). There you can make the ice and supply to people in areas with limited or no power at all.
In Akwa Ibom, it is known that places around Itam where we have the substation has constant supply of electric power. Choosing to live there or running the ice making business from there and supplying to other parts of the town will be a clever strategy.
