🎯Is farming a good profession? Let's hear from your opinion.

Yes farming,is a a good profession. I am a farmer currently,I plant many crops both cover crops, cassava, maize , plantain, yam etc. Farming is one particular work that feels somehow difficult to accomplish but at the end it brings smiles to our faces.I really love farming and I will love all people to join farming if they haven't.If I had the chance I would love to show you some of my farming process.

🎯 What are the advantages and disadvantages of being a farmer?

  • Meeting a Great Need: As a farmer, I can produce food for many people. Knowing that my work contributes to feeding others can be fulfilling and important.

  • Long Breaks: Farming follows seasonal cycles. While there are busy periods, there are also times when I can have extended breaks and rest. For example there are some season like dry season, it might be a month or two with less activity which I can use that period to rest and wait for my harvest.

  • Outdoor Lifestyle: Being outdoors in the sunshine is so beneficial for both my mental, emotional, and physical health. Fresh air and the greenish physical environment at the farm contribute to my healthy lifestyle.

  • Sustainability: Growing my own food can save money and improve spending money at the market unnecessary and it will reduce cost of living. And Fresh, homegrown produce from the farm is healthier too.

  • Being my Own Boss: As a farmer, I run my own business, which appeals to those who enjoy self-employment. I don't wait to get paid from my boss instead I enjoyed the self-employed from my farm.

It was on ending April when I Begin clearing the bush with the help of my family and friends. The bush has stayed for about five good years without planting. So we began the process of clearing the bush ,tilling the soil and digging the ground to plant maize and cassava.
We all know that faming is not at easy task thoe, especially when working alone. But when worked with friends and family the moment will be enjoyable. Finally after three days of work the bush as now turn to a farm and we began planting.

The experience I had while clearing the farm and planting was that people see farming as a hard or dirty work. But have realized that the more I put my self on farming process the more i get to love it more. And it's enjoying when done with family or friends.

🎯 Finally, show us a picture of your farm, it could be a garden, cassava or yam farm etc. And tell us a little story about it.

Wow at the beginning of my writing I said that if I am given a chance I'll love to share some of my farm with you all. Right now I choose to share my maize farm which I have been talking about.
Here is the farm below 👇

Working at this particular farm is the most stressedfull farming I have ever done in my life. I talk about clearing the Bush to be used as a farm ,It wasn't just clearing it up 😔 it was full with palmtrees which was to pull out some of it to make sunlight reach the crops on the ground. So we had to dig the palmfruits out. Not just that,I had to tilled the soil to be soft because it as been long the soil hasn't been used.
But after the long work, time for planting Begins,I planted maize plants and cassava.

Those two crops in my country is the most Benefiting crops. Becasuse the maize can be processed to pap, moimoi, milk maize drink, and all other process from the maize. While the cassava can be used or processed to garri, fufu, flour used in making bread, bons, cakes, etc. So the joy of planting this two crops gingers me to keep farming on the farm.
It was now time to weed for the crops, so we began the weeding process as seen below 👇

The crops began growing well and mature after the unwanted plants as been weed out.
I must tell you after two months of farming the maize crops was already yelling for haverst while the cassava keeps growing and waiting for it's harvest in the next six months.

👆So jux last two weeks I enjoyed my corn so well we cooked and roasted it to be consumed. Some was sold because it was much the income earn was 85,000 naira from the maize plants. If that's maize, imagine the cassava.

Dear friends farming is not a hard job as people says, just look at it in the process of two months I earn 85,000 naira which is about 270steem that's huge.So lets go into farming and becoming a farmer we will surely reap the fruit of our labour.

I'll love to invite:@ubikool,@goodybest,
