'My thoughts on journalism in my country.`
I am extremely glad to participate in this week's contest schedule and I will do all can to participate actively, At least I forget to greet my fellow colleagues on the platform, greetings colleagues, and have a nice day.
✅ What do you think journalism in a country should look like and how much of it has been observed in your country?
Firstly, let's know the meaning of journalism.
Journalism: can be referred to as the writing, editing, printing, and also the actual presentation of the current news and broadcasting news on the mass media which consists of the actual presentation of events that are occurring with the particular aim of creating news that can be informative to the citizens of the country and the audience from other countries.
I think that the way journalism should be in a country is that, journalism should be in a way that the journalist can easily write, edit, print, and give accurate information/news to their audience about a present happening in the country or the world.
The act of journalism should be effective, in that the journalist should not be forced to give to its audience wrong information due to the influence of the higher authorities and also, the journalist should be well trained to handle all sorts of things or obstacles that may come to his or her way, this obstacles can be in the form of, receiving bribes from the higher authorities to give negative information that may lead to war and cause citizens to have their lives at complete risk.
The journalist should only broadcast news that contains the absolute truth of what happened in any event either the complete amount of money in which the country may be owing to other countries or the financial economic status of the country there should be no further news the journalist should adhere to the rules of the land and stop the spread of fake news.
Journalists should also be respected by the ruling class, they should not abuse their power to make journalists spread fake news to the citizens and audience.
This is how the act of journalism should be in any country which is best to my own knowledge.
✅ Do you believe that all the news you are seeing today's time contains honesty and accurate information? What is the reason for believing or not?
Well, the news that I see is nothing but the truth,l, the reason being that the journalists who broadcast this news are usually live if they are probably not there, they will show the audience a short video of what occurred in that particular place so that should be enough to convince whosoever sees the broadcasting of the news to believe. They also show a speech of any Individual that they mentioned in the news, regarding the words that were spoken by either the president or other government officials.
✅ Has there been any change between the journalism of your country in the past and the present time? Has it had a positive or negative impact?
The act of journalism has only improved and presently has a positive impact in the area of broadcasting news to citizens and audiences.
Formally the process of journalism was not going well for the journalists of my country due to the lack of technical equipment that could make journalism faster and easier to broadcast news to the general public. There was also an ill-treatment or character that was portrayed by citizens and listeners to always see journalists as individuals who distribute fake news, this made the other individuals who wanted to become journalists dislike this profession immediately.
But presently in my country, they are now provided with adequate equipment to carry out their jobs perfectly. Presently the general public only speaks well of them and this has made the practice of journalism expand in my country, many students in higher institutions love to practice journalism and study it as a course in school the sudden acceptance of journalists as members of the society have brought peace and tranquility between the citizens and journalists.
