Millions face 'income cliff' next month when extra $600 in UI ends

Tens of millions of unemployed Americans will see a $600 per week drop in unemployment benefits. This is projected to disproportionately impact renters, people of color, low income workers, younger workers, and women. House Democrats have approved an extension of the enhanced benefits but it in unlikely to become law as Senate Republicans and President Trump oppose its passage.
