Soldering - Mastering the dark Art!!

Sorry, but if you're going to build a model railway, there will be a time when you will need to do some soldering, whether fixing  bus wires and droppers to tracks or adding sound to your locos.

I just discovered this excellent new You Tube channel called Chadwick park Model Railway featuring a bloke called Charlie and his model railway!

This is an excellent tutorial and basic introduction to soldering and we will be featuring more of these videos in later posts. The key to soldering when I was taught was to keep a hot iron and a clean tip and hot to apply any more heat than is necessary to protect your work. Anyway, watch the video and learn some great techniques for soldering all manner of wires and terminals.
